About Me
I have been interested in the color and pattern of quilts since in my teens. My daughter and I seriously took up quilting about the same time, eleven years ago. I prefer art quilts, but also do traditional piecing.

Brutus, a 9-year-old mixture of Black Lab, German Shepard, and Rottweiler. He is the laziest dog in the world except when I go upstairs to the sewing room. Sometimes I go up just to give the dog some exercise.

This newest picture is my 8-year-old dog Brutus with my 22-month-old grandson Jimmie.  Jimmie just loves that dog and I haven't quite decided whether the dog loves him that much or is just too lazy to move.

My daughter wanted me to post one of my new poems, hope you enjoy it. If you noted the name is different from what I use, it's because all of my writing is still done under my maiden name.

Hi Pat,

I'm glad you've got a plan! I made a quilt for my sister-in-law (and best friend) when her Mom was very sick. Her Mom wrote a message for Tammy inside of 4 hearts and each heart was sewn into the corners. While she was alive, I felt I couldn't work on it because when I finished she'd pass away. Makes absolutely no sense, but I just couldn't do it. A few months after she died I finished it and gave it to her the first Christmas her Mom was gone. She loved her Mom so much - she always said "I know my Mom has faults, I just don't know what they are!" Isn't that great.

Then a dear friend and fellow quilter died. She wanted me to have some of her stash so I used the fabric to make a raffle quilt for her favorite charity. It'll be raffled off this fall in her memory.

Take care!

Hi Pat,

I was just catching up on Karen's UFO group. I just wanted to send a hug and my sympathy to you on the passing of your niece. How terribly sad. You may find that down the road her quilt will give you comfort while you finish it.

Hugs from another quilter,

Hi Pat, Thanks for the invite.  I am just new to this web site.  I do quilting better.

What is QWU and where does it meet?  Have a great day.

Lima is only about 45 minutes away from my home, and I have been wanting to go to Heavenly  Stitches, a fairly new shop that opened in an old church that is in Lima.  A shop hop would be fun. I am joining the Ohio Quilters today.

I didn't realize there was an Ohio group. I work at our local library and we do not have a quilting group, but I do meet once at month with a group of quilting friends. It's nice to get toigether for  advice and to share ideas.

Hi, if you have a Kohl's Dept. Store in your area, you might just want to check out their children's book feature.  They have the Very Hungry Caterpillar with the stuffed toys to go along with it.  They are $5 each.

This quilt was very interesting, the lady drew the dancer's faces and legs which I am sure you can not see. It was a beautiful quilt and an awesome way to use up the hankies. With 70 left you will be making hanky quilts for quite a while.
