About Me
I am a stay at home mom, my children are all grown, 3 boys, now men...my baby is going to be a senior in high school this year and the only one still living at home...I lost my mom in March and it has left me kind of disconnected...I have Fibromyalgia, but it seems to be under control for now. I have been married for 31 years to a wonderful patient man, who puts up with my crazyness and allows me the freedom to be a real person...I was raised in a rural area of VA and now live in a different rural area about 20 minutes from where I was raised...I tell people that I am a third generation quilter but I haven't meet a needle that I didn't like....Quilting is one of many things that I do...I am not a perfectionist so my corners don't always match...But I love the way it feels when its finished and I have done it....Too much info....but for now...this is who I am...Rebecca

Thank you ladies for my birthday wishes, I had a very nice birthday with my DH...I haven't been online for a while...My youngest was graduating from high school, and I had some minor surgery to remove some knots on my arm and such...but all the news was good, still recovering a bit with some tenderness in the muscle but everything was fine...right after graduation, we had a vac. shutdown time at my hubby's work so everything conspired against computer time.....but things are startiing to get… Continue

Hi back,

I see you have been busy with the embroidery, cute stuff.  I have been very busy with my quilting. Since I cleaned my sewing room, I have been so inspired.  I have three quilts in progress and another two that need quilting and I have the itch to start a new mini. It is a butterfly block with sashing and cornerstones.  I also spent last weekend trying to do a 20 inch broken star.  I have to pull out some stitiching to get it to go together, but it was suppose to be a practice block and boy has it been an education. I am trying to improve my piecing skills and with all this practice something needs to improve! LOL

Happy quilting!

Tatting is so much fun, I prefer needle tatting than shuttle tatting. I like to do hand work as well....I just finished tatting two snowflakes.....I hope you join us in the world of tatting you will love it.

Rebecca, this was my first attempt at crayon shading. It was so easy. I used freezer paper on the back of my fabric and used a light touch. To set the crayon, I just covered it with a cloth and pressed it with an iron.  I think you will enjoy it. It really made the embroidery even move enjoyable.

The chickens wall hanging was a kit , but the little birds was not. I found out the hard way about the fraying. I actually tried (more than once) to use a length that would go 48 plus inches. Most of my hand piecing was on small items so the question of where to stop never came up. Then when I did our bed size quilt by hand (my first hand pieced bed quilt) the question then needed to be addressed. Thank you for the info. Hope to hear from you soon.  Bonnie

I am a former navy wife and stay at home mom. I am also a grandmother. I like to do a wide variety of needle work, but like quilting and knitting the best. I usually try to make my Christmas gift also and I have started on them. They are not quilted gifts since I am currently working on a quilt for curling up in. I decided to use one of my other hobbies, that being beaded banners and ornaments. Hope to hear from you soon.
