I have been quilting for many years and have tried several different styles. I have a bad habit of collecting fabric thinking I will be able to complete more projects than time has permitted (sound familiar to anybody?) I have recently decided to take a year off from working full time and made a deal with myself to finish my "around 2-its" before I can buy any more fabric. Two years ago, when we moved into our new home, it took me more time to pack up my sewing room than it did the entire rest of the house so I now check out my own "store" before heading out to purchase more. My goal is to finish new quilts for my 5 grandchildren before next Christmas.

Good morning ! It has been quite cold here recently, but definitely no snow. Spent Christmas in Halifax - so got to see snow again this year. Good luck with all your projects. I also found an amazing amount of fabric when I unpacked and I am doing the same thing - shopping at home first. Good luck with all your projects.
Have a good day and happy quilting ! Ginette
Hey.....good to get your note!!! And the picture..? I'd have my dogs pic too if I could figure out how to do it. Maybe some day. Actually theres a couple gals that have spools of thread that I think is pretty cool. They said they downloaded the Connecting Threads photo and then posted it on their profile. Can't figure that out yet either. As you can probably tell.....I fairly know computer skills. :( I know you guys have been having hard cold weather. Our yard took a beating when we got the week of snow and ice during Christmas. We normally get a lot of rain in the winter, the snow thing was a real shocker and a lot of damage everywhere. The last 2 wks. we've actually had cold/sunny days, but have a chance of snow again on Sunday. Yikes.
I've never been to Canada, but my hubby has.
Congrads...on retirement, what an achievement - 40yrs. you deserve to relax now. And 6 Grand children....you are blessed. I have 2 sons, only one is married so far and 1 grand son named "Hudson" and he is 22 mos. and the light of my life. They live in Seattle...so we only get to see him once or twice a mo. However they are planning on moving home! Yeah.
Say...I was reading some blogs and found someone giving a website that has a tutorial on a sm. fabric basket. It's cute, and she has other things to sew on there too. Nothing extravagant, just easy and fun.
So I picked out some scraps and am going to make a basket to hold some of my notions. Heres the site info. if you are interested.
Hi Reta, I am new to the group. We have a lot of the same interests.Would you like to be friends?I am a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 6 i have been married for 34 years and i am 52 and my husband is 60. I hope to hear from you
Hi Rita....Oh my gosh....you have a pet picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't you know this is a quilting group? Actually....I am only kidding with you and couldn't resist, as I noticed your comment on Chit Chat discussion group. I have held back commenting on there as to not make anyone upset. I have a dog..."Abby" she's a Schnoodle....1/2 mini schnauzer and 1/2 mini poodle and she's the best. I'd have her picture on my page if I could figure out how to do it. I think this site is fantastic and I have had so much fun on it, reading comments, suggestions, tips, techniques etc....not to mention I've made some great friends. How can you make a friend if you don't know anything about the person such as their family, their past that they want to share with you and of course the pets in their lives along with the reason this forum was began and that is the love of quilting which we all share. I admire you and your making a statement in you comment....good going, and happy sewing.
