Hi Robin. Do you live north of Saskatoon and have to travel through Archerwill to get there? It is interesting that you have a friend with a medical appointment in Saskatoon as my sister was there this week with her daughter. Her husband has been having some medical issues as well and has been going to Saskatoon. There names are Tom and Pearl Kapiniak. It truly would be a small world if you knew them!
What are you planning to do in AB? Visit your daughter? I sometimes drive through Lacombe on my way to Red Deer. There are no washrooms on Hwy 2 so sometimes I have to take the old highway through Lacombe. I haven't actually driven down any of the side roads to see if there are any quilting stores-are there?
My husband talks of retiring in about 4-5 years but I'll believe it when I see it as he is a workaholic.
Oh oh, sound like everyone is home for lunch so I'd better set the table. Talk soon.

Hi Robin. How are things out in your neck of the woods. We finally are getting some descent weather. It is acutally + outside. I went to my local fabric store today and there was a demo quilt calling my name. It is black, white & green. The fabric is from Northcott and is kind of funky. White design on black and black design on white. It is basically pinwheels done in the greens with backgrounds of the other two fabrics. For some strange reason I was really drawn to the quilt. I want to make it for my daughter as the last one I made her was a few years ago so it is most likely time for a new one. She like more abstract designs so I think she might like this one. If not, then I guess I will paint the guest room a different color and throw that quilt in there.
I hope to start on my granddaughters photo quilt before the month is over. How about you, got any projects on the go. Do you work outside the home as well. I work FT as a medical secretary & therefore have a hard time completing or starting projects. I am usually tired after work & on the weekends I am catching up on housework, laundry, etc. I can hardly wait to retire. I won`t have to by anything as I have so many projects stored away. Not sure if this lifetime will be enough.
My friend & I are going with our local quilt store to Pennsylvania in May for Amish country. Really looking forward to that trip. I`m hoping the weather is nice--no rain.
How about you. Where to do like to vacation (sorry, the question marks aren`t working).
Well, I have laundry to fold and hopefully can get to my sewing a little later on. They guys are going to play hockey, the granddaugher is in bed and the daughter went out for potluck. Yeah, the house is all mine!!! Now I just need some energy! Take care Robin. Talk to you soon, Grace
I was able to do a table runner for my sister who lives in Archerwill. She was decorating her new dining room in rooster so I was able to do a bargello rooster runner for her.

Happy New Year Robin! I am your neighbour to the west. I live on an acreage in Adrossan, AB. I have a sister that lives in Archerwill, SK. I too love seeing other peoples quilt projects. I began quilting seriously about 7 years ago. I just finished a table cover for a friend in Red Deer. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it. I will hae to get her to take one and send it to me. I take photos of all my projects. This way I can see how much progress I've made in my quilting and it also shows me how productive I've been. I am also trying to finish a Christmas tree skirt for my daughter, which she will get next year for Christmas. Too late for this Christmas but now I have one gift ready for next year (always look for the positive). Have a wonderful 2009 with lots of quilting!
