I’ve been meaning to post on here for quite awhile and with Pam’s nudging, I’m finally posting!

For starters today is our 30th wedding anniversary.  A big milestone, and like with any marriage, we’ve had our ups and downs!  We didn’t really celebrate today other than getting high speed internet installed at our house.  We are in a rural area and were told by our old internet company that they will not be installing new lines…

House Fire and A Shop!

Posted on October 21, 2016 at 12:58pm 9 Comments

Hello All,

It's been a hectic fall around here.  I started back to work (at the middle school) on Sept. 6 after a somewhat relaxing summer.  The Saturday after school started, Sept 10, I was home with my youngest son.  The breaker for the washing machine flipped off,  there was no wash going at the time, I reset it only to have it flip off again.  My husband was out working on the shop he's building but happened to come into the house for a drink of  water.  At that point, the…

What To Do With The Quilt?

Posted on August 9, 2016 at 11:36am 12 Comments

I haven't visited this site for quite some time.  Looking over the blogs, I see some of the 'old friends' on here, it's been good catching up.

I'm not sure if this picture will download, but here is my dilemma.  Our youngest son, Colin was engaged to be married.  The engagement lasted 11 months and they were to be married June 4, 2016.  Problems arose…

Spring Has Sprung!

Posted on March 24, 2015 at 12:26pm 6 Comments

Happy Spring to All!  We are on spring break here in Oregon, at least the part I live in.  Instead of snow, we've been deluged with rain, but there are promises of nice (even sunny) weather at the end of the week.  I have this week off from work (school), I was busy over the weekend finishing up a quilt for my co-worker, Carol.  Carol was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Three other co-workers and myself decided to make her a quilt (none of the others are…

Comfort Quilt for My Sister

Posted on January 19, 2015 at 11:06am 11 Comments

It's been awhile since I've posted on here.  As with everyone, life gets in the way too much.  We are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen, that was started the day after Christmas.  DH is doing all the work himself (I assist where I can).  With both of us working FT, it seems to be going at a snail's pace, but half of the kitchen is now done!

My sister, Katie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November.  She had…

Little Merrick's Great Grandpa (on his papa's side) sold JD tractors his whole adult life, so I'm sure the little guy will be wearing the "green" if they have anything to say about it.

I drove an old D-17 Allis Chalmers rake tractor in the hay fields when I was in high school.

Yes, little Merrick is wearing a shirt with a tractor on it...his daddy is an agronomist, so he's a farmer at heart.  We try to balance it out with cowboy stuff.  :)

Hello!  Thanks for the encouragement on the quilting slump post.  The wedding quilt did seem to take a lot out of me.  And it seems I may need to figure out another wedding quilt in the near future.  It won't be a DWR, but hopefully something equally meaningful, if less work.  ;)  I'm sure I'll wake up some morning itching to get back to it.  For now, though, I'm not accomplishing much.  Hope all is well with you and yours!

Hi Sue!  We're so looking forward to being grandparents.  I've always been a little bonkers about babies, but outside of his own kids, my husband has not.    The fun thing is, he's just as excited about this new little one as anyone could be!  That makes it extra special for Shoni, who has always been a little bit of a daddy's girl.

Thanks, Sue!  I appreciate your kind comment on the DWR.  It was certainly a labor of love, but I'm glad it is done and will be on its way to its new home soon.

PS:  I'm a Downton Abbey fan, too.  I've only seen 2 seasons.  Waiting for Season 3 to come out on Netflix or Hulu.

Sue, thank you soooo much for your support and "prayers" during Mr Man's illness and passing.  You have been their with me all the way.  I will never forget the ladies here on QWU who have sent such kind comments and helped me throught this time.  The tears are still flowing but I know that with time it will get easier.  I thank you so much and may God send showers of blessings down on your and your love ones!!! In Him.......Linda

That is sooo funny. There is something so gentle and kind in the retriever's and labs.  Their hearts are wonderful.  Tucker and Lexi sound like kindred spirits.  Thanks for accepting my friend request.  I look forward to sharing in the future.
