One resolution!

One resolution for the New Year! Live one day at a time....

So often, we are in such a rush, worried about bills, clothes, jobs, money, life! How can I think about "one day", when I have the rest of my life to worry about?!!! "How am I going to manage everything, when there is never enough time to do everything I want to do, and never enough money!!!!"

My sister is a "Pastor" for her church in Victoria, Texas. (I am so proud of her!!!!!) When I need a new…

Reflection of a would be quilter..

If you notice, I said "would be"... Today, I was browsing other "real quilter's" pictures of their wonderful projects with (should I say it?) envy. Yes, the green-eyed monster emerged.

There are quilters today that are truly gifted with talent, imagination, and knowledge (not to mention extra time and money from somewhere). Do they know how truly blessed they are? Would that I were one of their lucky few!

Gifts of that magnitude are rare and far between, not to mention uncommonly… Continue

New Year Resolution?

New year resolutions....? I don't know that resolutions (at least on my part) ever follow through. So, shall we call it UFO for this year? They seem to get finished more often than "NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS".

My first "UFO" is to complete my UFO's in a timely fashion... "Timely Fashion" definition being: (Working on that too. I'll consider the possibilities, and get back to you on that..)

Next "UFO" is to determine a definition for "Timely Fashion" (see "first UFO")

I think it should… Continue

Susan, Hi Just getting back to you from your post to me. Sorry... I have been actually busy. Days just passing by so fast. Busy with my case, I do hope you have heat again? I felt so bad that you and your mom had to go through that. I said some prayers for you both that something comes up for you to get that board. Have you been able to yet? I am going to start again getting back to the group. I have it seems at times nothing more to do than hunt things for my lawyer. Geez, they get paid so much, what do they do? lol. I am feeling great lately. i do hope you are having it better now. When you are ready or able we can chat again. Big hugs to you .....Hugs Morgan

Hi Susan--where's Hallsville?--you have a darling baby, I agree with PQ, that silhouette is fabulous!! We all started the quilting at some point, and improve with each project, don't rush it, just enjoy it!! It's a delightful journey--nicer with a quilting bee full of helpful experienced quilters!! Just got back from a quilt retreat at Red Barn in Coldspring--delightful weekend, great friends, food and quilting, not much sleeping!! It's feeling like spring in Houston, the cardinals are singing as though it was nesting season!! Best wishes!!

Hi Susan! I started to leave a comment this morning, but somehow lost it. ARRRGH!!! Thanks a bunch for the nice comments on my quilt projects. The casserole dowels were custom made by my husband from an old, broken shop broom handle. (He's pretty handy. I think I'll keep him!) :0) I hadn't been to town in forever and he knew I needed them, so he made some for me. They aren't perfectly round, but I kind of liked the flatter sides. He'd sanded them very smooth, but didn't stain or put a finish on them.

Beautiful baby of yours! I love the silhouette picture. Such a neat mom/baby moment to treasure. I remember when mine were that size. So much fun!

I hope to get moving on some quilting projects soon. So far my family, housework and transcription obligations have taken up most of my time. My girl is back in college and we're right in the middle of wrestling season for my son, so outside of my takealong hand applique project, I'm not making progress on much of anything. I'll be looking forward to more of your projects. I like what I see so far!

Happy quilting!!!!

Hi Susan, I like your page! Great job....well I am just getting my strenght back. I was pretty darn sick. I could not do anything for almost three weeks. I did get sick to my stomach all the time .....my lungs kept filling up and they felt like they were 50 pounds. I missed everyone. I am doing so much better. I am even getting in the mood again to do some hand quilting. By the way Happy New Year! I am hopeful that it will be a good year. My case goes to court in Feb. after three and half years. I will be so glad for it to be over. I do hope I get something...as the one company.... had chemicals in them that were not listed on the bottle. We had it tested...and it changed my life completely different. Whatever happens I just want it all over with. I want to just get on with my life. It has been so cold here. The other day our coldest day so far, some teenager on drugs ran into a pole and we had no electric for 12 hours... I could see my breath in the house. This is in the middle of Florida. More south than the middle. We are near West Palm Beach. It was 28 here. Today it finally got up to 62. By Sat. we should be up to 80 and I am ready for it. lol. Thanks for your post... and I will be around more now that I feel better. Hugs to you.....Morgan
