I took a quilting class because a friend wanted to. She didn't care for it, but I was hooked. I needed a new machine, and that got me hooked on embroidery. Now I have a SABLE...Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy.
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
You are welcome and I'm glad you come on as a friend. Maybe we can meet up sometime. We don't get to Chicago ofter except to see a Cub game or are flying out. I think that is about where you live. I've looked at your pics and you do a really great job. You are very talented.
Progress on organizing the stash is slow going...but at least it's going. I'm trying not to turn this process into a BIG chore and take it in more manageable pieces! (I tend to let myself get overwhelmed on tasks when I can't see an end in sight and this is a never ending task!) So I am working on it a few times a week and just letting it get done when it gets done. I'm also trying to plan ahead and keep organizers handy for new material purchases and get them put on the organizers as I purchase. Because at this point I am having to iron each piece before I put it on the organizer and that in itself is very time consuming.
The organizers come in 2 sizes and they measure 10" X 14" (yardage size) and 5" X 14" (jelly roll and smaller pieces) and are meant to fit a regular book shelf. I personally purchased the 10" X 14" size only, because that seems to be what fits my uses at this point. Keep me posted if you decide to try them. Have a great week. Georgia
Poplar Grove? Is that up north maybe around the Chicago area??Thanks for the post about thefabricorganizer. I'm so glad I went ahead and made this purchase!! I received my first order of 75. I thought this past weekend I would get most of them used. However, that isn't the case. I have a HUGE SABLE and so rather than make it an overwhelming chore my goal is to iron and organize some each day or at least a few times a week. Yesterday when I got done with the pieces I was organinzing, I laid out the next 15 pieces so I can work on them this week. I really think this will help me see what I already have!! Let me know if you decide to get any and how they are working out for you! Georgia
