I have been quilting since about 1977, and sewing from the time my mother trusted me with needle and scissors. I work at a Christian bookstore. I have 3 grown children and 7 grown step (I prefer bonus) children. Was widowed at 50, but happily re-married for 5 years now. Looking forward to getting acquainted!

I am Karen age 52 and live in Fairmount, Indiana. Do you enjoy going to the quilt shops. Do you belong to a guild?
Would be fun to quilt with others from Indina. I am about 30 miles from Muncie, Indiana.

I like "trying" to play nearly all kinds of music but mostly tend to lean towards gospel. I didn't start taking piano lessions until I was nearly 50 years old so I got a really late start. I took lessons for only four years so I don't play real well but I enjoy it any way. Some day - when I retire - I will have more time to practice and do other projects as well.
Thanks for the info Shirley; I will pass it on to my SIL about the bookstore. Don't know how soon I will be in the Richmond area but will definitely put the info about the shop and the quilt shop in the PDA and look forward to finding you on a trip out there. Abbott bought the building that used to be Initek(?sp) and is starting a line there, and sharing the building with Initek, somewhere on Industry Road I think. They are currently trying to sell their house in Ligonier IN and find a place down in Richmond area but will probably not get moved until school is out for their boys. Hope we can get out there then this summer.
I totally agree-in fact, this amazing friend also bought the fabric in my picture after I told her I wanted to make her a quilt after her husband died. I told her I wanted her to have something warm and cuddly since her husband could no longer hold her. She picked out the pattern and most of the material, I just added some accent fabric. She did a marvelous job don't you think? I am from Ft Wayne IN-where is Hagerstown in relation to me?
We're in Michigan. My photo was taken at Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Penisula. One of my favorite places to visit. I'll see if I can scan a photo of the quilt at work with the pattern. Best wishes on your search with BHG!
The pattern you asked about is Strolling around the Block a calendar of twelve blocks two of my friends and I have make this quilt. It is a fun one to divide block among friends to put together then swap blocks. I printed copies of each block but never saved the pattern on my computer. Try emailing BHG.com and see if they still have the pattern. It appears they took it off the website.
