I have a dresden plate question

Posted on January 10, 2011 at 8:23pm 2 Comments

When I make a dresden plate pattern the center of my plate is always too big. I like the center circle to be small.  Does anyone have suggestions as to why this happens. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Quilt Borders....

Posted on June 18, 2010 at 7:37am 2 Comments

Thanks all you great quilters that commented on enlarging quilts with borders. I just worry that I will put the wrong border on and will make the quilt look terrible after I put all that hard work into it.

Happy Quilting everyone..

Border question?

Posted on June 17, 2010 at 10:00am 6 Comments

I usually find patterns that I like in full to queen size. I need king size. I know I can just add a border, but how should I go about adding the right kind of border or borders? Any suggestions??? All will be much appreciated...

I love reading everone's posts and looking at their photo's. They all give me lots of GREAT ideas.

Happy quilting everyone.

Happy Easter to all QWU quilters.

I am searching for a purse pattern with a zipper that is inset. I have searched online and can't find what I am looking for. Does anyone know of some great sites for handbags?

Thanks for any help....

Happy Easter...

If so and are thinking about an Elna or a Janome check this out....I found it intresting.....

I don't own either brand of machine and I am not affiliated with this blogger at all. Just wanted to share what I found.. I know if I was considering either machine I would sure appreciate being informed. I figure that would be money for quilting fabric that I… Continue

Hi Pauline! I did end up ordering four of the snowman panels and tucking them away. They will go on my TO DO list and will make wonderful gifts for some of my friends next year. Thanks so much for your help in finding them!

I did quilt my table runner by machine. I don't quilt I usually send my quilts to a long arm quilter. This was so small I knew I had to do it so it sat for a long time. I actually had fun doing it. It was the second thing I have ever tried to quilt.

Pauline, thank you for the lovely comments you left on my quilt photos. I've been caring for my elderly Mother for the past few years and I don't get out to Quilt Guild or Stitch Group anymore, so it's really nice getting feedback from other quilters.

Yes Pauline, I would say I am definitely a snowman lover! That is almost all I decorated with this year. I have about 50 snowmen of all sizes and shapes sitting around the foyer, living room, kitchen, bathroom...not to mention another 100 or so snowman ornaments on the tree! And there are still quite a few in totes that I didn't even put out this year. They are just so fun and cheery, for a season that can be so dreary and COLD in Minnesota.

Thanks so much for your help looking, and sorry for all the typos in my last post! My fingers need to slow down and pay attention to what they are doing! Anyway, I checked the links you sent and they have a snowman panel, but it isn't the same one you used. The design is different, and I loved where it said SNOW at the top of your. But, long story short, I kept looking and found one that actually came in a kit with 16 fat quarters to make the flying geese border, and it is already ordered! Maybe next year I'll have it done for Christmas and be able to show you!!! Another thing to add to my huge "TO DO" list! :)

Do you know if that Peal Louise snowman panel is still available anywhere? I have been looking all overonline and can't find it. :(

Hi Pauline, yes, I noticed AizemorePeete also. I'm watching her(?) to see if anything odd happens. Thanks for alerting me.
