About Me
I have been sewing since I was 11 (my grandmother taught me,) I sewed all my 4 kids clothes while they were growing up and then stopped for several years, I woke up a couple of years ago and decided to take it back up again now that I have 7 grandkids and 2 on the way this year. I got into quilting and have self taught my self to quilt with the help of many quilting books. I also sew for my grandkids and make all my gifts for the year for everyone. I have a small fortune invested in my sewing room, I bought a new 630 Bernina last year and this year I bought a Juki to do the machine quilting for my bigger pieces. But I do love my BERNINA and cannot imagine having any other machine. My only regret is that I work full time ( I am a certified pharmacy technician and I sell Mary Kay) so I am always trying to find time to go to my room and hibernate.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, machine quilting, general sewing
My pets are awesome!
Three dogs, 1 golden retriever puppy, 1 wirehaird pointing griffon and 1 laso apso. These are our children now.

Ct oder

I just got my CT order yesterday and order those scissors that Karen was raving about and oh yes they are nice. One cannot have to many pairs of scissors I ordered two. I also ordered several different battings and some of the new July 4th fabric for a wallhanging. I find it addicting to order from CT it is one of my downfalls, I love notions the more the better. I am waiting for my next order. I am going to start a paper piece project this weekend and cannot wait something from Carol Doak. I wish work didn't get it in the way. Its a no win situation, If you don't work you cant buy nice things that you could probably live without.

My Quilt Store is Closing

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 3:55pm 6 Comments

It's a sad  day in my town our quilt store is closing,  it has been so nice to be able to go visit with great people I will surely miss my quilt store, our town is small and we do have a Joanne's but I dont always like there fabric a little on the cheap side not the major brands, so I will be buying fabric from Connecting threads. But goodness knows I really dont need any more for some time. I am sure I have enough to keep me busy for some time as I have made three visits to the quilt store…

New pfaff 4.0 "a quilters dream machine"

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 7:24am 6 Comments

I traded in my ambition that I bought this summer and bought the quilters dream machine and I love it. It has a couple of features that I just love and cannot wait to use while quilting. Getting used to no pressure foot lift was wierd I kept reaching for it but that went away shortly. But I love, love, love, when you stop sewing the pressure foot raises so you can turn the fabric or whatever this would be great when doing applique, and the thread snips, the 9mm…

Stitched the movie

Posted on September 27, 2011 at 7:46am 2 Comments

I just watched Stitch the Movie. It was great to see how quilters are a unique group of people, it does make you want to be able to sew full time and do something that you love. Maybe someday soon is my" hope and wish". If you love it you need to make time for it is my new motto, sew much of the time we put aside the things we love to do to handle the things we have to do i am looking forward to fall and winter to sew more and enjoy what I want to do.

A Girls Dream

Well it is official our new Joanns opened yesterday and of course I headed there first thing after work. I was very impressed with the store, the selection and the great sales. Next weekend is the grand opening and I will be there for that. Some might say well that is nice but in this small town this is HUGE. We have never had  anything like this here it is very difficult to get any new shopping in this town as the good old boys own all the businesses and they do not want…

I'm so glad you liked that purse and that you ordered the pattern--I think you will really enjoy making it, and it's a great, practical purse to carry too.  Can't wait to see pictures when you finish it!

Thank you Vicki!

I have taken a couple classes with Quilt University and that's helped me to "hone" my skills.  Marilyn Belford (who just joined this site) is an instructor with QU and really worth looking into her classes..and many others on QU too, are offered!

Thank you Vicki; I bought the pattern in Bellingham, Washington.  It is called "Table Graces" by Jean Dunn Designs (JD-01), and it was easy to make and very fast to put together.  The most time was in cutting.

Hi Vicki, I didn't use a long arm to quilt my "matching quilts that don't match". I used mostly stitch in the ditch and then put a free motion heart inside the white friendship stars. Since the quilts are twin sized, they were pretty easy to do on my home machine.
