They give her the meds and babies heart rates goes down, off the meds and she contracts and has the problems that follows contractions. Well we are home again having a huge cup of chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Ok back to the hosptial time, I put together a bucket of fabric, needles,…

list of birthdays on home page

I noticed that my birthday wasn't listed on today's list so am wondering if I was supposed to do something to add it to that list.

Happy birthday to everyone who shared a birthday with me today. I was born in a leap year but missed it by 23-1/2 hrs.

small project for a rainy day

Yes, even here in Maine we get rain in Feb. at least it is not all the snow that just south of us got this past week!

after that last quilt that I did, I felt that I needed something small to do, so I made a table runner out of some FQ's that I got from CT. this is only the second runner that I have made and still flying by the seat of my pants. I just look to see what everyone else does and try to "follow" the pattern. anyway, it is a Carol Doak PP Mariners compass block…

I did it! Actually entered a contest...

I'm a procrastinator extraordinaire. The Quilt Show has a table runner contest and I've only ever finished 2 quilts. I have never made a table runner, and I decided to enter this contest.

So, what do you think?

Springtime Tulips I designed this in EQ6 and used a set of charm squares (RJR's Flora and… Continue

Someone Got Their Lions Crossed!

Up early this morning. Can you believe the cable guy is coming? Strange, but true. My only hope is that he shows so I can still get to church. It might be late service, but church nonetheless. I suppose that's life in the big city working on the weekend-I bet he is as excited to be coming to our house as I am to have him come. Mr. Man Cave bought a new flat screen HD tv. Went all over the place price comparing…

Ok I feel better now...

Good afternoon to all. I had an extremely bad day at work. Working in retail (Grocery store) I see a couple hundred people a day. When they come at you one after another and stand there waiting for you to figure out what they want-it does get on your nerves. I am not a mind reader!!! I had a customer today who was having a bad day and decided to take it out on me, unfortunately she also called our customer service to complain about me. They called me and for once they and the store manager…

Oooh boy, what was I thinking?

I had plans for this weekend involving an anniversary steak dinner w/ my husband and DD at Grammy's . My plans had been changed, unfortunatley. (My husband passed away earlir this month.) I told Summer, my DD, that she could invite one girl to spend the night since I had the weekend off anyway. I honestly didn't think I could handle any more than one. I was right. Both Summer and her friend are being very well behaved, but they are 10 and 9 and just being giggly. I wonder if I was like this…

So I finished my 1st attempt at a Double Wedding Ring quilt, well the top any way. I bought batting and backing today and am planning on layering it shortly. But let's just say I am definately less than satisfied with it at this point. I think its horrid, puckery in places, streched in others, definately does not lay flat. I'm hoping some of the issues will be smoothed out a bit in the quilting process but in other places its is so warpped there is no hope. cry I also wanted to make a…

Leaping Sheep

I picked up a project I had become frustrated with a few months ago. It was supposed to be a VERY EASY baby quilt. But, when I started it I decided that I wanted to make it just a little bit bigger. Then I messed up on my math, and couldn't seem to get it right. So into the vault it went. I THINK I've got it right now. Trying to decide whether I want the sheep all leaping in the same direction (as pattern shows), or in a circle? Pics on my page. I like the circle. The med. blue fabric has a… Continue

another quilt finished

just finished up this quilt. spent the morning finishing up the binding, now it is in the washer to freshen it up. dont know what I will do with it, but it is done! getting better with the techniques, most of my corners match, only off by a smidge here and there. one of these days I will be satisified that all my corners match. now if I can get comfortable with the quilting! I used the "water/fire" on this one. think that it came out halfway decent. problems with the thread, it kept breaking…

Chapter Three--Monday Morning Mystery at RKMQUILTS.com is UP!!!

Yes, yes...I know you looked and looked for chapter three of the new online quilt book. It's up now! I had a snag with copying and pasting it for some reason. I think it was a glitch with my site host or something. In any case, it's up!

I will be including patterns with the book as the guild in the story makes a quilt for the state fair, so if you want to make your own along with the storyline, it will be free and fun!

Let me know your comments on the…

"Work" is a Four Letter Word

And I'd rather be sewing. I just got a small embroidery machine, and I am having a blast making some applique baby animals for a baby quilt for my best friends daughter.

I finished the quilt for my Step Daughter to take with her and she loved it.

Oh and I ordered the cake topper (Jim Shore's Bride and Groom) for my wedding cake, now if we could just set a date that didn't get changed. Unfortunately we both work for the same company and it's hard to get time off…

I am just glad the baby is here and both are doing fine. (Not so sure about Dad but thats a different story). Anyway now I am Mawna24 and I say keep those grand babies coming!

today

I want to thank all the well wishers for my birthday. It is amazing that so many people that I have never met would take the time to send best wishes. It is snowing like crazy here but this is the first real snowfall we have had all winter thanks to el Nino! so we can't complain. Actually I love the snow--it is so beautiful and brightens up the dreary days.Just not crazy about driving in it.In spite of leaving early for work this morning I was down to the wire timewise as everyone was going so… Continue
