Am going to the DoNut Shop this morning to meet a friend for our Bible study - we have been meeting there Tues mornings for about 4 years. And have had such a bless time.
Then a bit of shopping - i want to get one of those small table-top ironing boards and to the club for a walk on the treadmill. Then back to my sewing later. Am working on quarter inch seams and matching corners when joining squares. Will get a couple of pictures posted.
Hope everyone is…Continue
It took us three days of driving to get home...thought we would see the grandsons but everyone had the bug...so will wait until that passes. It's…Continue
Here’s Rebecca’s version of a wool appliqué design Julie recently finished.
This was a week to contemplate death, but also resurrection. I see some parallels to my life, even if on a smaller scale. True to our theme, Rebecca has added a butterfly, long considered a…Continue
Well, i have been away for a very long time! I seem to have stopped blogging here after i lost my son. Partly because 2014 was another year of loss. In October I received a letter from my Sister in Medford that she had terminal cancer. My son, Geoff, and i went down and spent a couple of weeks with her. She was failing quite rapidly and died December 19 - almost a year after we lost my son Greg.
But, God has been so very special in our lives and has given us much…Continue
Wishing friends near and far a lovely Easter weekend with lots of chocolate and time with friends and family.
Just finished this hand bag from a tutorial on MSQC. It's made from 5" squares. The next one I make I'm going to put strips between the squares. It will make it bigger and give it a different look. I have been trying to post it and it always comes out side ways. You may have to put your computer on the floor and lie down to view this or crank your neck like a chicken. Your choice. lol…Continue

I have made some progress on my project. Have been adding details, which is slow going as I am hand sewing on the details in some parts. The little sea anemones have been sculpted with the tops done in thread. They will be painted once everything is assembled. I have a little sea horse that I need to paint and attach as well.…Continue
Having earned a place on the MIA list here on QWU, I would like to lay to rest the rumor that I am dead, having suffocated under a pile of fabric in my sewing room! (Okay, I came close but managed to crawl out from under my stash just in time.) Work takes more of my time than it used to, which allows me a little extra ca$h to play with, but less time to play.
I am trying to actually quilt some of the tops that I've made. I came across a very good deal (almost makes me feel…Continue
I must have been working on this particular quilt for nearly 20 years! It was a Block of the Month before those became so popular, and I was assured that as a newbie quilter, it was well within my skills! WRONG! I did finally get it together, layered and basted, planning to quilt it on my domestic machine. Well, that was a horrible idea! I had no such skills!
Think the next several years spending time folded up in a drawer, while your maker slowly improves her domestic machine…Continue

I have started a new project which has been inspired by a dream that just would not let go. It has been the same dream over the past 3 days, SO decided creativity was trying to get me moving. It is being done on a 26x30 canvas, will be a fiber art piece and the background has been painted in acrylics. When all is said and done, it will contain fabric, threads, 3-D effects, beads and who knows what else will be added.
This is the start and the lion-fish is done in trupunto and then…Continue
