Hi everyone,

I'm getting a late start here but wanted to step in & say that I have enjoyed reading everyone's

blogs.  I especially liked Peggy Stuart's & fell in love with the dresden plate design.  I'm always amazed at the ability others seem to have to take an old standby like the dresden plate & make it new.  The design & colors are absolutely beautiful.

A Bit of Luck

Do you feel the luck today? I sure do. I was told yesterday my blind spots in my right eye were gone. The scaring no. My vision is 20/20, but with severe light glare. That does not mean blindness is gone from my life. The implants lens can last only ten years. Ouch to that, but if that happens then I can have a chance at better placement and lens on my right eye. I did not realize I have not taken pictures of all my shamrocks quilts. I am going digging to found them in the closet, but Easter…

Finally! Finishing those darn turtles.

Well, I should be able to see the last of those darn paper-pieced turtles by the end of this week.  I got all (I hope!) of the machine quilting--in the ditch, no less, finished up Sunday, and got the binding cut and sewn onto the front side yesterday.  Now all that's left is to whip-stitch it down on the back.  I may be able to get my friend to post a photo on the website--cross your fingers.  My computer repair person tells me the problem I'm having with posting photos is the software that…

Fabric fix & CT mystery starts Wed 16th.

Did you see the one day fabric sale at CT? I know I don't need fabric but to finish a few I need some. Sure did not take long to get free shipping. I might even have one fabric new for the CT mystery. I got lots of Easter table runners done this month. I still have more fabric to make a few more.

High Fiber—New Inspirations

Vintage Stitchers met at Barbara’s on Thursday. She showed us this great Dresden Plate quilt top:

She had a quilt pattern that had big, empty squares in it. She substituted the Dresden Plate blocks for the big squares. What an interesting setting! Carol also had a finished quilt top:…

Fold'n Stitch Wreath

I have been seeing lots & lots of pics of the Fold'n Stitch Wreath so when I saw a class was going to take place on it at my favorite LQS I jumped at the chance to take it.  It is one of those things that be like Lays potato chips - you can't make just one! …

Anniversary Day...

It is our 42 nd anniversary! We were married during gas rationing. Had new jobs so decided to drive to the Poconos for our honeymoon. We had an even and odd liscense plates with us so we could be sure to get gas to get home! Gas was .49/gal. Memories! Let's post some memories of and how long we've been with our spouses!

High Fiber—Topping Off

A couple of weeks ago this pattern fell into my cart in the Ravelry store.

First, about the shoes Dolly is wearing with this outfit: Someone on Ravelry saw my black-and-white oxfords and tried to order them from …

lost wip found

you know you have too much stuff in your quilting room when you have been looking for a project for months then discover it's been under your nose the whole time.  Today i was cutting strips for a quilt project and was putting some away for another time when a certain container caught my eye. Lo and behold it's the very project I could not find for many months, just sitting there laughing at me, or so it seemed. Guess it is time for spring cleaning and sorting for my sewing room or maybe…

Early Morning Joy

This was the scene out my living room window this morning.  There are herds of them all over town.

What do quilters do???

We are in Key Largo for a month. I tried to find a quilt shop to buy some local prints! Not happening. Closet is in Miami. The traffic is so bad that it wouldn't be fun.

I had the weirdest accident. My wheelchair has wheels that come off for packing in the car. Somehow through traveling, the button got pushed. I was using it when the wheel came off and flipped me. My head was lodged against the door and the axle was between my arm and chest. Luckily I didn't impale myself. Hubby is in the… Continue

Guild "Retreat" Trivia

Our guild has planned it's annual retreat for mid-June.  Unfortunately, the powers that be have decided that, in order to make it affordable for all, we are not actually "retreating", but attending a daily sew-in at the local Veterans Hall for three consecutive days, lunch & dinner provided.  A friend and I volunteered to do registration, payment collection, name tags and "goodie bags."  We are supposed to plan for about 70 attendees -- not exactly my idea of a retreat, because we return…

Birthday party for Aiden

Geeze I can't believe that this little guy is three years old today.  Time sure is flying by.  Green seems to be Aidens favorite color at the moment so I had the girls in the bakery at work make a cake for him.  I wanted to find him a green truck but turns out any green car will do.  And you can Lucas and his dad there, that little one is already 5 months old. Finally got a picture of that little guy smiling. …

ATTENTION AUSTRALIAN QUILTERS

We at Block Swappers, Inc. have lost contact with one of our members.  Her name is Megan Sawyer and she lives in Figtree, Australia.  I think it is in New South Wales.  She was communicating with us until right after Christmas and then she seemed to drop off the face of the earth.  I know she is a grandmother of 4 boys and that she is connected to a quilt guild near her.  I believe she lives alone. We are very worried that something has happened to her.  If you know Megan or…
