My gift to family and friends are bulky scarfs. Every time I wear mine, someone asks where I got it. On a cold windy day, they sure keep you warm. Hope everyone is winding down...two weeks and counting!!! Santa"s helpers are busy!

A lady wanted a crazy quilt pillow with only three colors. It didn't look good so I ended up doing this. If she don't like it I will sell it to someone else.

I made this quilt for my sister more than 20 years ago. She mostly used it to hang off her loft railing. She has decided to retire in Costa Rica, so hard decisions on what to take. Quilts are not essential. She sent it back with a note saying...thanks for the loan, but we know this belongs in your home! …

I find it hard to wrap my head around the fact that it's Thanksgiving already. I have two invitations to go to dinner but have decided to stay off the roads. We are getting our first blizzard. Tomorrow I will dig my Christmas trimmings out of my locker and decorate for Christmas. Have a blessed day.

i haven't been on here for awhile so thought I would pop in.
First the year travelling, then had a accident while in Sydney Austraila and came home all wrapped up with broken shoulder, ended by having the brake operated on with a plate and pins. So this year until recently hasn't be very productive other than physio and excersizes and they say it could take up to a year to 18 months.
But at lest I am keeping myself seine by doing thread painting. And was able to take part in…

Hi all -- I don't have anything sewing related to share, but I thought you'd like to meet my new friend who has been visiting my neighborhood. This is my first opportunity to get a picture, and now I see he's just getting antlers! I've learned this is a piebald deer.…

I promised to post the picture of the quilt I was repairing for my daughter. I made this some 30 years ago from a pattern in a magazine. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the pattern. The repairs were to the cream colored borders. For some reason the fabric where I had hand stitched the quilting had caused the fabric to start ripping. I didn't have the cream colored floral print I originally used but I do have the blue fabric which as it turned out I didn't need to use. …

My sister Joan is an avid reader. Reads about 3 or 4 books a week on average plus she belongs to 2 book clubs. So I decided to make her a tote bag to make it easier for her to tote her books back & forth. I hope she likes it.…

It is such a good feeling to have finished all my unfinished projects. I will try to not let that happen again. This is a top that my aunt sent to me years ago. Great hand piecing. I machined quilted it only because I want to give it as a gift. It was a nice size 76x76. No…

In 2001 I started a chapter of the American Sewing Guild. A few years later we came out of the guild as their fee each year kept going up and some of our members couldn't afford it. Not to mention we couldn't get people to fill the necessary positions that were required. So we decided to come out of the Guild and just do our own thing. We named our group The St, Croix Stitchers. We have only had 6 members the past couple of years and some have been having health issues. Last Sat. I was the…

We headed out two weeks ago meandering down to New Orleans to a conference. We both like civil war history so decided to visit some of the military parks. We started at Chattanooga at Lookout MT. Amazes us how they fought that battle on a mountain. We went downtown, which is on TN river and a huge regatta was taking place. There were thousands there. Travelled onto Vicksburg, MS. Beautiful area with the gorgeous Antebellum homes. We took a swamp boat tour in Lafayette, LA. Always thought…

Just dropped in to say hi to everyone. Not much new is going on. I've been working on repairing DD's quilt that I make for her decades ago. Sounds horrible that way but it was one of the first quilts I made. Once I get finished with it, I will take it to DD's house and take a picture of it to show everyone. I will be working on thanksgiving day as usual so to all I wish a happy thanksgiving day.

I am not making much in the way of gifts this year, but I did just finish Miss Bailey's Christmas gift...
It's a byAnnie pattern (Out and About) and uses her Soft & Stable. It's great to work with....but some of the seams are really really thick to have to sew through. I found my old old Bernina that I bought several years ago for art…
