There is never enough time.

I spent the last week creating what I think are amazing quilting designs. Oh, they are not amazing in that, they will blow you away. They are amazing in that such simple blocks, can make such beautiful designs when I flip and twist them in Electric Quilt.

I spent time delving through a book I have about quilt designs. Then I either found them already in EQ or I used the create a block functions and reproduced them. Then I simply played until I came up with something I… Continue

Well I finally finished this quilt. I just did an all-over stippling pattern. Wanted it ready for a gift. Will probably give it to my sister & brother in-law for Christmas. Have to start thinking about getting those gifts ready. I have a lot of company in the next month then I will definately have to get busy quilting. This is my favorite time of the week...Friday at 4:00! The temp is suppose to be in the 90's this weekend, and the hubby is working. This will be a great weekend to get some sewing done. I started on a table runner for my Aunt. I have enought fabric to make a complete runner for the backing. I will post it after I finish it. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Stay cool!

At the moment I am doing pretty good at living up to my claim of only being 12. I am playing on her, texting, listening to iTunes and having a snack all at the same time. Gotta love it when you're home alone for a little while ;-)

Cathedral Windows Help!

A while ago someone had a picture tutorial on how to do cathedral windows with 3 fabrics by machine. I can't find it. They had posted on their page with pictures and I thought I would try it, but, now I can't remember who it was, can anybody help?

Monkeys may be taking over my life

After making the 6 monkeys for my sister's show and the extra monkey for my great-niece's birthday, I thought I was done with monkeys for a while. It was not to be. I have had two people tell me how much they like the monkeys and ask for me to make them for their children. So, now I have orders for 3 more monkeys. I am charging $25 apiece for monkeys with a hat and a monkey size fleece blanket and $35 for a monkey set up with socks, a nightgown and a little blanket. I know I am… Continue

Holy Cow!

My DD is on vacation. DH came home and let the dog out this evening. We went to let him back in and couldn't find him. Scoured the neighborhood. Checked under all the bushes. Everything. Found the lump an hour later asleep in the bathroom. We were calling the little %&*#@*% and he NEVER WOKE UP!. All I can say now is glad he was here.

A Quilt for Betsy Bug for Mom's 89th Birthday

My Grandma Jessie passed away in 1984. A few years ago Mom gave me some blocks Grandma had embroideried with flowers. The background fabric was almost the color of rust. I finally got most of it out and made a quilt top. I plan on tryingggggggg to hand quilt it myself and giving it to Mom on her 89th birthday. Grandma… Continue

Of castles and crowns

My great niece will be three in August. I have decided it was time to figure out what to make her for her birthday.... she's going to have a 'Princess' party and so I started looking for quilt blocks to fit the theme. Found two - a castle and a crown, free paper pieced blocks. I just finished making them, and will now built a Princess Tote Bag around them. It was one of "those" days with paper piecing. I goofed with the first piece (sigh) and from there I kept making "dumb rookie mistakes" LOL.… Continue

Well its hot here and muggy and I hate that combo. I would outside (I deliver mail) and it was just a yucky kind of day.

Then.... I found a box of ice cream cones laying scattered in the road. No kidding. They fell off the top of the Schwan's truck. I call the driver and told him I found them ... He said guess they're yours now. So I had one then put the rest in the freezer of one of my customers. I told them where I got them but it didn't bother them either. ;-)

Nothing like free ice… Continue

Scales of Justice...

Has anyone ever done a quilt or wall hanging with the "Scales of Justice" on it? Or anything pertaining to a lawyer. If so would you please let me know. I have an attorney friend that I want to do something special for. I'd like the pattern if you have it. Or some ideas. Thanks!!!

Get one fire out--two more start

Just as I thought my life might settle down, I developed a new set of issues. What a summer! Now I am having major computer woes. Egads! Have to get everything backed up--twice. And mom fell and her wrist is all swollen and of course she has no idea what happened and can't understand instructions and yabba-dabba-doo. I'm not sure when I'll be able to actually sit down and catch up with my cyber friends. Miss you!

Quick update on Cala Lily Quilt

This is the quilt that I made for youngest daughter and her DH for a wedding gift - to be given to them on their first wedding anniversary. I sent it, along with a few other things, out to their 11 yr old son. He had to sign for the pkg at the post office; told me it made him feel 'grown up'. I told him that he could open the box and take out everything except for the wrapped gift - that he was to hide it in his bedroom until I told him to give it to his parents.

I got a message from his… Continue

Another One Finished

Does anyone remember the Friends episode when Rachel spends the whole episode doing the New York Times crossword puzzle and when she finally gets it done, after working on it for a couple of days, she jumps up and realizes that she has no one to share her excitement with? I put the last stitches in the binding of this quilt late last night and looked around to realize that with everyone else in bed, I had no one but the dog (who was snoring) and the cat (who was sleeping also) to share my… Continue
