Happy 4th of July weekend to all! Today is our 22nd wedding anniversary! DH and I spent the day together going everywhere and nowhere. That's the first time on our anniversary that we've spent the whole day together. It was rather nice. We started by going to breakfast, Home Depot and then rode the 'new improved' ferry in our area. Once we crossed the river, we hit a farmers market and then a quilt store in Dallas,…Continue
Is it hot where you are? Good grief! I drove two hours to my sister's house in Illinois from Indianapolis today and it was 98 degrees! Yikes! I wanted to stop at several garage sales, farmer's markets and antique stores along the way, but nope! I just kept the "pedal to the metal" all the way because it was too hot to stop and have to cool the car down again when I was done shopping!
We visited a new quilt shop and retreat center in Danville, IL called Threads and Beds Creative…

Sitting at the computer when I should be making cookies for the library FIRECRACKER BOOK SALE for Monday, I can't do it tomorrow cause my 2 grandsons are coming. Grandma is baby sitting, My DD is getting a divorce and it has been tough for the boys and for her also, she had a job as a restaraunt manager, she has a degree in that and also she is a chef (loves that but late hours with kids). When I get started on the above I could go on forever, but I will stop now.

I Just re-read my posts from this winter and I want to tell you that I really did get several projects accomplished. I hand quilted a wall hanging/table runner for my sister's new kitchen, a large baby blanket, 2 "dolly" quilts, a cloth story book, and a purse that I made in the class I took at a local quilt store. Everyone was pleased with the quilts etc and I've used my purse almost every day since I finished it. Since I got home I've been concentrating on…Continue
It's been awhile since I posted but I have been busy re-doing the dining room. I'm getting the house ready to put on the market. I have a realtor coming on Tues. to post it. No telling how long it will be before it sells. Houses are not moving to quickly in this neck of the woods.
I had a nice phone call from Katie Mlnarik from N. D. today. It's nice to hear from our QWU friends. Thank you Katie for the call. I enjoyed our chat.
I have hardly touched my sewing machines in Two…Continue
I don't think 67 is going to be enough! I'm real happy with how it looks though. I changed some of the stems at the bottom and I'm going to add another full vine coming off the left side near the short one and running over to the right, below the one that's already there.
ok I need to fold and put away my clothes, I need to do the dishes, I need to get off this couch and complete my farm curtains, and I need to get dressed - BUT today I want to sit on this couch and stay here and never get up - ok so if I do the Dave Ramsey way - the need and want - I better get up and get going, right?
Things are BAD between my husband and I... but he came hoe with a replacement chair that he broke for me then turns around and says..... for years you have…Continue
Good old Kansas in the summer. It was 109 here yesterday which is about 30 degrees more than I would like in the summer. One of my zucchini plants is almost dead. Some of the leaves look like they were zapped in the microwave. They crumbled to dust when I touched them. Never have we seen that before. Luckily my sewing room is the coolest room in the house. While the girls were occupied playing, I actually got to work on a disappearing nine patch mat that I'm making for the dryer. Good…Continue
One site I visit is a paper piecing site where Linda, the owner, creates a mystery block challenge about five times a year. She has one going right now that is really fun, and it is the first of her challenges that I am actually doing, myself. She has you take a quiz to find the 'perfect' Fairy Quilt Godmother for you, and then she tells you her name and creates a paper pieced portrait of her for you to make. Some people have already submitted their finished blocks.
