July 31 - Catching up

The Spirit Led my life again this week.

Though I did not do any crafting, I was able to catch up on a lot of domestic needs that have been neglected this past month.  I was even able to spend a little time outside on yard work.  The temperature has been oppressive of late.  Temps hitting near 100 and heat index from 105 to 110.  You do not spend much time outside.  This week will be more conducive to working outside.

I also felt well and strong enough to…

High Fiber—Extreme Family Team-Building

Camping trips to the Uintas are usually low-drama, because we don't have to travel far from our home to reach beautiful campgrounds close to lakes for swimming and trails for hiking. This adventure was a little different.…

Just checking in

Hello my quilting friends.  It's been awhile since I posted so thought I would stop by and say hello.  I have been busy today rearranging my closets to make room for a three drawer plastic storage unit that was given to me.  The lady who has gifted me with her fabric stash gave me this unit. I will put it to good use. It's 24 wide and 25 high. Should hold a fair amount of fabric.  With all the stuff in the closet out in the middle of the floor my sewing room looks like a bomb hit…

July 24 - Continuing to mend

I had a blessed Spirit Led week, I hope you did also.

My husband and I rode with a son and his family to the Dallas Metroplex for the birthday party.

We had a great time.  Baby Daniel was one busy little boy, with lots of big and little people to play with.

They had a cook out with kabobs and grilled chicken.  There were all types of fresh fruit like pineapple, and kiwi and fresh melons.

After eating was going to be present time, but the babies…

Two more finished for 2017.

It's been a busy year, mostly taken up with handquilting my Caswell reproduction.  The next in line was my Carrie's Garden, named for a special friend of mine. . This one, though done by hand with needleturn applique and English Paper Piecing, is to be used as a tablecloth so is machine quilted.  …

July 17 - Under the Weather

I hope all have had some special Spirit Led days.

It started with a bad summer cold, but soon moved into a sever case of bronchitis.  I am on the mend now.  But I will be requesting prayers for more healing.  God is good and faithful.  He is my strength.

Through I have battled to sew, I was always too tired to concentrate.  I am back now though.  Yesterday I was able to make a toddler bib for my grandson that will be turning 1 next Saturday.  The bib is…

Another finish

I can't remember if it will be 2 yrs or 3 in Sept that I took a class from Bonnie Hunter, but I finally finished piecing the top that I started in that workshop.  It is called Bricks in the Barnyard from her Scraps & Shirttails II book.  Her version has a braided border, but I decided to do a piano key border…

July 5 Another busy time

What a week.  I got a call early on Monday soon after writing my last post.  Our son, who lives a block away, needed me to baby sit.  He was scheduled to take her to his mother in law, but something came up there.  He had a scheduled meeting with the city manager about sewage backing up into his house.  He has been confronting this problem since he moved in 9 years ago.  The city has been trying to remedy the situation, but our son is tired of having to live in a house with concrete floors.…
