I made a little purse for my 22mo granddaughter. She loves slipping purses over her arm and walking around with them. …

It seems that one of my photos didn't make it to the finished blog post.

I belong to a group of about 20 quilters that try to get together on Saturdays to quilt, socialize and share. We call ourselves “The Charm Pack”. We can sometimes manage it weekly, other times we may only manage to get together once a month. It all depends on availability of the location where we gather. But one thing is constant. How much we care for each other.
When someone has a life changing event we make them a ‘heart’ quilt. We choose a common fabric…

As long as I'm on the site, I decided to add one more project. This is the wallhanging I made for my SIL's birthday. They were in town yesterday so she got it a week early, and seemed pleased.

In a little while I will head out for our annual quilt group picnic. So far, no rain, but the heat index is 95 so we will probably end up eating indoors. Usually we grill out, and have outdoor games with prizes before heading indoors to our sewing machines. Here are a few pictures of things I've worked on the last few months. The table topper in the bright colors was from scraps left over from the quilt, and the result of a winter that just got too long and dreary. I haven't decided yet…

You may know that the second Saturday in July is the Sisters Quilt Show. Since we live so close, we decided to go. I decided to take Veronika with me to get some photos, because she's a quilter, too. (She sat inside my purse most of the time.)…

I'm sitting here thinking it's been 11 years since I have been on QWU. I found out about this site through a flyer that came in the mail in 2008. I joined along with many others. Each day they posted members birthday until the members got to be too many to post. I have enjoyed viewing the the beautiful quilts of the many talented lady's on this site. And the many variations of of quilts I have seen. I was a new quilter when I joined QWU and was amazed seeing all this talent displayed. I…

Like some of the rest of you, I too have gotten away from posting or doing much on here. Thanks Pam for the nudge.
For me I quit coming on a regular basis after my hubby retired, 6 years ago. Life dealt us some detours that were out of our control (for the most part). Started out 6 months after moving into our home I had a heart attack. No worries on that now as I am in better health than I have been for years. I have brought my chloresterol levels into normal ranges, all without…

I wanted to give a shout out to Pam from New York for encouraging people to come back on & post to this forum. There are so many people who used to be very active on here, but who we never hear from any more. Always makes me wonder what happened. I know most of the individual groups I belong to are very inactive as well. Makes me feel sad. I know I need to do a better job of keeping in touch as well.

I’ve been meaning to post on here for quite awhile and with Pam’s nudging, I’m finally posting!
For starters today is our 30th wedding anniversary. A big milestone, and like with any marriage, we’ve had our ups and downs! We didn’t really celebrate today other than getting high speed internet installed at our house. We are in a rural area and were told by our old internet company that they will not be installing new lines…

Summer weather has finally made its way here. We had a very chilly spring. We've had good rains, which makes things nice and green. I made a couple of baby quilts and a wedding quilt over the winter months, along with some bowl cozies, a table runner, and a microwave potato bag. There is a partially finished baby quilt hanging on my design wall. It still needs a border. Just haven't gotten back to my sewing room recently. My goal over the past year or two has been to use only fabric…

it’s been a long time.. Wow 7 years since I posted. I found out about Linda Sue Robertson passing away. We met on this website and she became a great friend to me through the years. We had many many phone calls. I’ll never forget when we met face to face in Nashville for the first time. So in honor of her memory I’m getting back on here to reconnect with some of the others I’ve met as well. Would love to catch up with you all, make some new friends and share what we all love the most.…
