I'm doing pretty well. It's been about 3 1/2 months now since Dennis' passing. I have pretty much found my new 'normal' . I spent Easter down in Oregon with my son, but also visiting a very close friend who was just diagnosed with a type of glioblastoma. Hers is not operable at all. She hopes to start chemo and radiation very soon. It was good seeing her. I hope to get down again later in May.
Not much time or energy to be in my sewing room. I keep busy with three…Continue
The best part of Spring is all the pretty flowers! Luckily, we don't have allergies, so I have fresh flowers all the time. We had a very nice Easter with our son and his family! They surprised the boys with tickets to the first home Michigan game. As you can see, they are huge fans! I finished the tree skirt for a wedding gift in July. I am so glad to have that off the list. This week will be cleaning windows and screens now the weather is nicer. …Continue
We've been home for a couple of weeks. Finally, caught up on appointments, etc. The weather is bouncing around. Managed to get some yard work done. Working on a tree skirt for a wedding gift. The wedding is in July, but want it off the list. Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and Passover. We have brunch with the family then head to the lake house to do yard work…Continue

The picture below is a pair of blocks I've been working on. the dark blue with the white center is only one of three different blocks that will be in the quilt. It may take me a while to finally get all the blocks put together but then I do have until christmas to get it finished. LOL Seems to me I said that about another quilt that I am working on for my grandson. still not finished with that one either. The 2nd picture is the first row of blocks to be put together.…Continue
Autocorrect has finally learned that steek and steeking are acceptable words in the English language. Its most common word to substitute (as in "change it to") is steak, with steep a close second. However, this is a steek:…
I haven't been on this site since 2014. How is everyone? What are you working on? Looking at my pictures I posted on here awhile back I need to upload some new ones. Reach out let me know what you have been up to and I'll do the same.
I'm so excited to tell you the women who's been renting my house decided to buy it. We did the closing today. This has been a burden on me for a long time.
We finally got the rail up between the kitchen eating area and the family room.
We only have ten days left before heading back north! Hoping the major storms are done by then! We rented a home for next year this week. The management group said they rent 80 homes and had only three left. Luckily, one was the one we wanted. They have never seen it so crazy! With the winter so bad, people are getting ready for next winter.…Continue
We returned from Beaverton on Monday, taking the alternate route, which goes through/by Eugene. We had a lovely view of Mt. Washington as we came over Santiam Pass.
Have you all been quilting today? I have been making labels that will go on the backs of Quilts of Valor quilts. I was going to baste a quilt, but didn't have the right size batting & didn't want to cut into a larger one. I should just order 60" Quilters Dream cotton by the case as that is my favorite size as I can machine quilt them with no problem.
I bought a new Brother sewing machine almost 2 years ago. I've been working on the applique project posted earlier. Suddenly the darn machine doesn't want to work right. I tried cleaning lint out, changed bobbin, re-threaded I don't know how many times to no avail. I called the store that I bought it from and they said I could bring the machine in and that they would look at it. I asked how much sense it was over a year old. $179.00 Hummmmm I'll fix it myself thank you very much. …Continue
This quilt was modified from a lap quilt to a queen. Started with CT's pattern "Cabin Life" (I believe) and their flannels from that time. I'd ordered extra fabric at the time, knowing I planned to make it larger. I'd put together the original size back when I first got the pattern/fabric, but hadn't gotten around to finishing it. I wanted to gift this for a wedding quilt, so a couple of weeks ago, I pulled it out and started working on it again. …Continue
