What can I say now?

congrats to BJ on her quilt touring the country and to Pam for her post as well.   As for me, well I am sitting in a small RV.  We finally sold the house.  My other half is still waiting for L & I to do something about his back.  We didn't get as much out of our house as we expected to due to some shifty work by the mortgage company.  I am still working but between the 2 of us we just aren't getting enough to afford even an apartment in our area. Because this RV is so small, I just don't…

Bob Ross Art Quilts Trunk Shows

They have put out the schedule for the quilts, through January. More shows will be scheduled, but at least we know where are quilts will be for a few months.  I was rather pleased to be in the Chocolate.... oops, I mean Brown ... group. There are some amazing creations, hope you can see some of them throughout 2020 when you attend quilt shows!

The schedule so far, along with who is in what group:…

Summer is winding down...

As much as we love fresh corn, hardy mums and The NY State fair it means summer is ending.  It's a special Labor Day weekend for our family. Our parents will have been married 70 years! They are both 88 and doing great. They don't travel like they use to... but always manage to stay busy. They have subscribed to their hometown paper in Schuyler, NE for 70 years. This is the announcement, I placed to surprise them...the year should be 49, they assured me it has been corrected!

Summer is winding down

The days are much shorter – the last ‘walkies’ for the dog at 10 p.m. are now done in the dark – such a change from mid-June when it’s still daylight at 10 and even at 11 p.m. it still isn’t completely dark.  And of course, by 4 am, it’s light again.  Quite a change from our winters – when it’s dark by 5 p.m. and not light again until after 8 a.m.  One of the advantages of living in the (semi) north.  I understand that Washington, Oregon and California are considering staying on…

Good Morning...

How much company can one house have in one week? It has been nonstop for the entire month...so, there wasn't any quilting going on! I did score two tops for a friend. I have two in the works so passed on them. We went to Rutland Vermont to a wedding. What a beautiful area. There is a small Norman Rockwell museum that we visited. Amazing man. When we got to the section of 1950, we started recognizing Saturday Evening Post covers. Lots of memories. We also went to the original Vermont Country…

It seems that one of my photos didn't make it to the finished blog post.

The Charm Pack

I belong to a group of about 20 quilters that try to get together on Saturdays to quilt, socialize and share.  We call ourselves “The Charm Pack”. We can sometimes manage it weekly, other times we may only manage to get together once a month.  It all depends on availability of the location where we gather.  But one thing is constant.  How much we care for each other.

When someone has a life changing event we make them a ‘heart’ quilt. We choose a common fabric…

One more

As long as I'm on the site, I decided to add one more project.  This is the wallhanging I made for my SIL's birthday.  They were in town yesterday so she got it a week early, and seemed pleased.

In a little while I will head out for our annual quilt group picnic.  So far, no rain, but the heat index is 95 so we will probably end up eating indoors.  Usually we grill out, and have outdoor games with prizes before heading indoors to our sewing machines.  Here are a few pictures of things I've worked on the last few months.  The table topper in the bright colors was from scraps left over from the quilt, and the result of a winter that just got too long and dreary.  I haven't decided yet…

High Fiber—Scenes from Sisters

You may know that the second Saturday in July is the Sisters Quilt Show. Since we live so close, we decided to go. I decided to take Veronika with me to get some photos, because she's a quilter, too. (She sat inside my purse most of the time.)…
