Here I go again

I don’t know how I manage this but I love these colors.  The block isn’t done yet.  I still have another round of triangles to put on this but it’s looking good

High Fiber—Medieval Monks in the Monastery Had It Easier!

In spite of an incredibly busy week, I managed to bind off the "Which Came First Shawl."

I still have to weave in ends and block. In…

It does not have to end here.

I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU).  I used to give virtual workshops here.  Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled.  I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the…

High Fiber—Taking a Breath

You may remember our Air Quality Index reading last week of 525 (September 12), which was "Hazardous." By Wednesday, we were down to 264.

Checking in

Like others, I'm seeing that this site may shut down. I hope not. It has been a great place where we have developed friendships for many years.

The smoke from the fires has dissipated from here, at least for now. We still have a fire burning close by, but it should not affect us here at the Ranch unless lots of heat and major winds come back for a few days.

I should be moving to an apartment here on the Ranch the end of October. It is brand new, except for the outer walls.…

Quilting With Us Fate

Are we going to lose "Quilting With Us"?  I got a message that this Network is at risk of being disabled.

Pony Baby Quilt

A finish.  Finally!  I think the edges are rippling some because the binding may not be 100% cotton.  It was something in my stash inherited from a great-aunt.  She was quilting in her later years (the 1970's) with whatever was available.  And history is repeating itself, because that's what I'm doing now, too.  This one is going to a sweet baby girl in Idaho.  Machine pieced.  Machine quilted (domestic machine).  This quilt completely used up several of the prints here.  Stash busting…

High Fiber—Smoked

I really want to finish my whole-cloth quilt this year.

It's hard to tell that I've made any progress on it, but it really is happening. I've also made a…

Friends list.

Has anyone else had their friends list on their page deleted? I had three pages and now I only have 6 people on it.

Here in Oregon

Hello, I’ve been debating posting on here for several days and finally decided to write.  I’m in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and we’ve had wild fires since last Monday night.  We were on level 2 ‘get set’ at one point.  Our future daughter in law’s family has all been evacuated from their homes.  As far as we know, none of them have lost their homes at this time, but they haven’t been allowed to go back to check.   I would really appreciate prayers from…

Hello my "Stitching Friends"

I'm sitting here like a bump on a log. It's 6 a.m. and I hope I get more ambition then I have right now. I haven't had time this week to work on my quilt. Hope to make some progress on it today. Yesterday I cleaned out the fridge. I found stuff in the freezer that had been there so long that a package of chicken looked like dried Cod. And the pork chops looked the same. I need to go get my meat the day I want to cook it. There are three stores within walking distance so I have no excuse to…
