No more Pins!

I started working on a broken star pattern and besides the fact that I forgot that measure twice and cut once rule, I started pinning and sewing then ripping cause the points didn't line up.  Yes I know that the seams go in opposite directions and I stabbed the seams after…

High Fiber—Working for Santa

Thanksgiving cut into my play time this past week. However, I was able to get this doll sweater finished.

The pattern is "Very Easy Cardigan for American Girl or 18" Doll" by Ceci Riehl. The yarn is …

Let the decorating begin...

The weather couldn't have been better in the northeast. We were able to get out in light jackets and decorate outside. Now, the tree...grrr! I see a new one in my future...half the lights went on. Each time I get a new one, it gets smaller!

I would like to ask a favor:

My younger brother lives in a group home in Nebraska with five other men. They are all in their 50's or older. Most don't have any family that cares. They love getting cards. They carry them around and look at…

I hope

everyone here in the USA had a wonderful Thanksgiving today.  Ours was very nice.  Just enough leftovers for some turkey sandwiches, but not so many that we will be tired of it before it is all gone.

Thanksgiving has started out on a sad note...

My MIL was very good at ceramics...years ago she made us a beautiful set of Indians. The chief and his Squaw for Thanksgiving. Well, it was tragic, but ...I decapitated the Chief today. I was dusting and he took a nose dive off the end table and it was all she wrote! He shattered in a bazillion pieces! That's what I get for trying to impress company with a clean house!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope you are safe if you are on the road today, and I hope you get to spend this day with everyone you love!!

I will be working today as my family and I had our Thanksgiving feast last weekend.  Working on a fall topper for a customer who used CT's Kaleidoscope line.  She wanted it to be a fall theme so I went with oak leaves.

Eat lots, hug more, and laugh until your face hurts!!…

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

I will be joining Bud at his Assisted LIving Home for dinner.  It's a cloudy day here but the temp is suppose to be in the 50"s.  Last year we were shoveling snow on Thanksgiving Day.  Enjoy your family  and friends and have a great time.

I could use this

I really could use this in my car but then I'd also have to find a driver as well.  Hey could get the daughter to drive me and we'd both be happy. I wouldn't complain about her driving and she wouldn't have to tell me to shut up every time she slams on the brakes, runs a red light ect…

High Fiber—Feeling Grateful

For Joanie’s birthday present, I promised to sew together the paper-pieced pine tree blocks Julie, Janet and I helped her make.

They had been sitting in her craft room. Joanie has had a difficult year, health wise, and hadn’t been able to sew them together. She wants to embroider wild grasses over the cornerstones, and that is a project she can work on…

These are Fun -- and Addictive, Like Peanuts!

Star Wars quilt is off to the long-arm quilter; now I'm back to doing those Itty Bitty Quilts, and am finding they are quite addictive. I can't do just one! October is over, November is up now, and I have finished December.  I have the perfect place in the entry to show off the little (6-1/2") quilts, so I just keep on making them!  They take about 2 hours each, so it's not a big commitment.  No compensation by CT here.…

From Thread Painting to Painting!

My creative spurt seems to be growing. While trying to think of where I want to go with the needle felted/thread painting project, I have created a few paintings and have been working on a thread painting. The two paintings are in acrylics and are of a sea turtle and a winter scene called garden gate. The thread painting I've entitled Spirit Wolf and has really been a challenge to work on, albeit a very enjoyable challenge.

May your creative juices flow and many enjoyable hours pass…

No Such Thing as an Ugly Quilt . . .

Well, I'm not so sure about this one!  It is the latest Star Wars fabric, fresh from the latest movie which is not even in theaters yet, and DS will be thrilled to get it for his birthday.  What you see below is just the top.  I'm putting a red plaid flannel (remember his arctic world is white, gray and black at this time of the year) on the back, and the binding is black.  I think the whole thing looks a little chaotic, but the printed Star Wars fabric is a little chaotic.   I call the…

I got inspired!

For a while now I have been wanting to make a whole cloth....something.  I knew I didn't have the time nor do I have the talent yet to make a quilt so I'm starting small.  After the border I just finished I was inspired to make this little beauty to go on my coffee table.  I did start out thinking I would make placemats but I made one and got discouraged beause I didn't like it.  So today was a better day.  I will spend the rest of the afternoon making coasters with feathers to match, which…
