Happy New Year!

My 1st blog! Best wishes for an awesome 2009 to all. I have enjoyed my 3 years of quilting, having finished a few of my larger quilts on a longarm machine at a shop in Tacoma. This winter's snow gave me a few extra days I hadn't counted on and made my first wang-hanging for my parents for Christmas, something I have wanted to do if I could find the time....well, it found me snowed in a few weeks ago, so I went for it! I have made many tablerunners and baby quilts, which is why I started sewing… Continue

Happy New Year from Oregon

I've only been quilting for 3 years now and am totally addicted!! I've always wanted to give it a try, but thought I had to wait until my kids had grown and moved away -- wrong! I love it and have even taught a few classes at our local shop, where I work for 2 days a week to get my fabric "fix'. My first 'big girl quilt' was the Buggy Barn Crazy Goose Chase. I entered it into our local guild's quilt show and won best of category. If I wasn't hooked before I was then! It is cold here in Eastern… Continue

Wishing all a great new year

Greetings from Fremont, CA. Happy New Year to everyone. I have been cleaning closets this week (there is no fun in that). So, I believe I deserve a quilting day tomorrow! Is anyone following the mystery quilt at quilting.about.com? I think I will try to do it with pieces and scraps that I have on hand.

Happy Quilting and Happy New Year!

Hello to all from Eastern Oregon...we had our wet, cold, snow throughout christmas and then the wind came and the weather warmed up and it is a slushy mess out there now. BUT any weather is quilting weather. Hope you all have a wonderful 2009 and finish those UFO's that you have been looking at. I have two more grandchildren on the way this year and am thinking baby stuff right now! I love to make baby quilts and small projects - makes a body feel good to complete something start to finish!… Continue

Happy New Year!

New Year's greetings from Wyoming. It's been a bit snowy and blustery. I'm looking forward to playing in my sewing area all day tomorrow (okay, after I take down the Christmas decorations). I will leave my Christmas quilts up for another month. My currents project(s) is/are--I'm designing a wedding quilt for #2 son. The bride is all about fall colors and son is all about blues so I'm making a way too complicated series of snails trails. If it ever gets pieced, I will post a photo. In the… Continue

Bucks County Cross Stitch Quilt series pattern

I am desperately seeking the Bucks County Cross Stitch Quilt series pattern that ran in Quilter's Newsletter back in the 70's--it ran for probably 6 months or so with each month's issue having a pattern or two--i am willing to pay for these patterns--thanks in advance!

Newbee form Vermont

I love Connecting Threads. Nice to find a site where quilters are friends. I have been quilting for about 30 years.I am just getting into long arm quilting. Would like any tips anyone would have on this. Just finished hand quilting a whole cloth quilt for my Daughters Wedding Presesnt. It was more of a project than I thought it would be. Live and learn..
