Babies still keep coming….

I thought that when I separated the female and male gerbils that I would be done with babies.

Then I looked in my fish tank tonight and there are at least ten baby guppies swimming around!  I thought that the males had killed the one female guppy, and bought five more females yesterday….LOL.  Apparently, I thought wrong!  She must have been hiding somewhere in the tank, just like those scarlet shrimp are always hiding.

Anyways, Happy New Year to everyone.…

Last February I posted a blog post entitled "Grace".  What many of you only a couple of people knew was that this blog was about our precious "Yolanda" that just went to be with her Lord.  God put this on my heart and I was drawn to the computer to write this about her.   I will now repost this here, but in place of the name Grace, please insert the name "Yolanda". Little did I know how soon God would call her home for her next assignment.  Truly I believe she went home to…

SO looking forward to a new year

Its been a rough year, a lot of tough times, but also a few joyous occasions. I'm glad to see 2010 behind me. I'm hoping for many good things this year....like helping my daughter PLAN HER WEDDING! Yeah! My baby is engaged!! (no, not making her a quilt LOL)

In the immediate future (and most recent past actually) I finally put the quilt top I finished last winter on my sister's longarm, and have, over the last two days, quilted everything but the borders.

Just received 2nd response to the Daylily wallhangings

this is from another of the four daughters...  I am in tears - good ones -

Oh My God Sun......I have never received anything as beautiful as my Day lilies.  I feel that if I wrapped myself in it, I would be getting a hug from my Mom.  Christmas was a hard time for us and this gentle beautiful, piece of art that you have sent me makes the lonely moments a little easier to bare.  I will be putting it someplace where I will see it every day.  And when I look at it, I will think…

Out with the old and in with the new!

We've all heard that adage often enough, but it is so true.  It is amazing how something as simple as a date on a calendar can signal big changes (and sometimes small ones as well) for us!

Looking back on this past year, I had to wonder if I met some of my goals.  The last few years I set a goal of getting as many UFO's completed as possible, but at the beginning of this year I changed that to completing at least three. Not only did I complete three but I got even more than that done…

Happy New Year (and my next excuse)

Happy New Year all! Golly it's amazing how much faster the years pass now than they did when I was young! Maybe I should go ahead and say Happy Easter! Have a great 4th of July! Happy Thanksgiving! LOL now I have that out of my system. I stopped making resolutions because I always picked something I knew I couldn't get done--yes, lose twenty pounds is still on the to do list.

I have signed up for an unofficial event rife with peer pressure--I'm supposed to write a book (first…

Happy New Year

I am back after being without internet for a month.  Boy did I miss everybody.  As far as sewing goes  I am not

sure where everything is.  I have a storage area and the boxes all got put in there including my machine.  Next week I will get busy and empty some boxes.  I think most of them are materials.  I didn`t think I had a very beg stash but when it was time to move it I heard nothing but complaints about how much there is.  Nobody understands having a stash like our fellow…

Happy New Year....

Hello Everyone...

I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year!!! I personally am ready for this one to be over as it has been a year of test and trials, changes and  victories. I have to say don't give up on your dreams and prayers, in his time he will answer. ( He graced me this year with a victory in my families life that has been going on for 10 years).God has brought me through all of it with more wisdom, and closer to him. I will have to agree with Linda, we have to give him our…

Watch that Step (Part 2)

My 2nd and main surgery is scheduled for the 6th of January at 1 pm.   Dr Tressler will then put plates and screws in my leg to bring the breaks together and then the next phase of my recovery starts. I should be in the hospital several days and the plan is to send me from the hospital to rehab.  I don't at this time know for how long.  A week maybe two. I will have Denise let you know.  Thank God for her.  I do know this, I will be down for 12 weeks from the time of…

Watch that step!!!!!!

Hi, my Quilt With Us family.  Finally got the computer in the living room and can send out a personal update.  Thank you to Denise and others for keeping all of you informed on my unfortunate accident.

I have received your cards and gifts and am humbled by the response.  I cannot tell you what you all mean to me and that each word of encouragement is like manna to my soul.  I will try an update you on what happened and where we are to date.

On the 19th of Dec,…

Sweatshirt Quilt

A woman came to our quilting group one day asking if there was anyone who made t-shirt quilts.  Her mother had made cross stitched shirts for her kids and she wanted them made into a quilt to give to her mom.  I had said that I would do it but that I was pretty busy at that point and she said she'd get back to me.  Five months later, she reappeared (lots of people looking for Christmas gifts appeared in October....and I was totally booked for the fall with things the family had requested). I…
