Anyone have this?

Do any of you have the CraftLite LED Craft Lap Station?  It's on page 37 of the newest CT Catalog (item L).  My sister is interested in it but would like to hear a review of someone who owns it.  Does the light give off a good amount of light?  Does it rest nicely on the lap? Your input will be appreciated, and will help her decide whether to buy it or not.

Thanks for helping…

Happy New Year, Everyone!   As I've read in your blog posts, I too hope to create lots more quilts this coming year.  This last year was not that productive for me as I'd hoped and I intend to change all of that.  Today, my sweet daughter-in-law and I spent the day together, first at our fave fabric shop where we each got lots of goodies, then to Michael's Crafts where Wendy got more scrapbook goodies and out to lunch.  It was the stuff of dreams to have each other just to ourselves and we…

Happy New Year's

I want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 2012.   I have set some goals for myself so time will tell if I'm successful in reaching them or not.  One will be to finally make some of my older quilts that I have already purchased the fabric and patterns for. I have several roll around bins in my quilt studio that are full to the brim so I'm just going to open a drawer randomly & go for it.  I have already started by getting out some star blocks that were part of an internet…

Another New Year greeting

I gave up making New Year resolutions. I never picked one I could actually acheive. You all probably know the type--give up chocolate and lose twenty pounds. On January 3, I'd have to run to the store. Okay, if I ran, I might have worked off some of the weight off but I didn't run.

Not resolutions, plans, for 2012:

I plan to enjoy every bite of chocolate.

I plan to spoil my grandson.

I plan to give away some stuff I don't need or want.

I plan to finish some…

Happy New Year!

To all my dear QWU friends: I received this humurous wish earlier and I want to share it with you:
A Prosperous New Year to you - South African style. May good luck stalk you. May joy attack you wherever you go. May your sorrows be hi-jacked. May your trouble be stolen. May your worries disappear like a BMW in Soweto. :o)
That is only tongue in the cheeck. My personal wish is that God will be with you all in 2012 and of course, I wish you many happy quilting hours!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Well, it's sure been a rollercoaster of a year for us here in "Roseville"! I hope that 2012 brings all of you many blessings, happiness and the best year ever!

Since I can't give you all a big hug personally, I have a collection of easy recipes for you as a little present from me to you to help you celebrate the big night ahead-even if it's just you and your "Mancave"...

Thanks again for all of your support--looking forward to getting back on track and back to normal with…

I get it now!

So when making Mariners Compass, one closes their eyes and hopes for the best!  Ok I didn't have my eyes closed or I would have sewn my fingers into the block (we really don't want to do that again).  JK!  Making these blocks was a whole lot easier than I thought they would be.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!…

End of year missive

This is the final push to 'get 'er done' projects. Well let's actually tell the truth...a fascination with feathered star patterns. Once the quilted gifts were done and given; the pillow covers assembled and stuffed; I hit the deck with the idea of perfecting the Feathered Star block. Well, one good thing, a quarter inch foot was most helpful in the process. However, the provebial mountain that is produced in the center of the block was a constant issue. With many unsewing moments ( I hate…

Not a Quilt, but a Quilt Journey...

Hello everybody,

have you ever been on a quilt journey? I love travelling, especially in the USA, and usually write extensive travel reports. Currently, I am updating a travel diary for a trip I made in summer 2005 - one of the best trips I have ever made! I drove round Lake Michigan with short detours to Lake Superiour and Lake Huron and I think that I visited at least one quilt shop every day... ;-)

If you are interested to read about my "adventures", please come to…

My daughter bought me a plaque with the below on it..lot it was hiliarious!

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS (this can also apply to cat lovers) ...1. They live here, you don't. 2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.) 3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people. 4. To you, it's an…

Every quilting rule was broken!

I have been working on this quilt for 3 years off and on. It is for our two year old grandson's wedding, so no rush. lol But,it's done! I have never broken so many quilting rules in my life. I never use a hoop or frame when I hand quilt. I baste tightly, but freehand it...could not decide what I wanted on the border so waited until last week to draw the pattern on. I used one of the points in the quilt as a pattern. I would rather get a root canal than mark a quilt! This quilt has been to…
