Happy New Year (Pam)

Well, I don't have any pictures of my quilt projects.....I've been in a bit of a slump lately, I can't seem to get motivated to sew!  My goal tomorrow is to spend most of the day working on a quilt I started in August!  We'll see how that goes!

Since I'm lacking in quilt pictures, I thought I'd post some of our flock.  These ewes deliver lambs to us every year. Happy New Year to All! …

Posting for Pam...

Here's a photo of our Christmas.... damn,  darn, there aren't any Christmas photos..., I accidently erased all my pictures from my camera.  I've been in a funk today over it. Been so mad at myself I cant seem to concentrate on anything. Really?  Luke's first Christmas? and I had to pull a stunt like that?    My camera is kind of new to me and I touched the format button my mistake and poof, they went to that big black cloud somewhere out…

Here you go, Pam - another post!

Happy New Year to each and every one of you!  I hope that the new year brings only good things to all of us.  Here is a picture of the Jacob's Ladder quilt I made for my son, Jake, for Christmas.  I think he likes it, not too bright or too busy of a pattern.…

Because Pam said so!

Hey I've already had a busy day.  Went to work and left early thinking I would get some GS Aiden time in before mom and dad got home but NOOOO , "Mom, when you pick Aiden up at the daycare can you bring him up so I can visit with him?"  "DD," I say "you get off work three hours after I pick him up, can't you wait?"

"No I have to take him half way to his other GM in Yakima."

Even before she takes another breath, I have this figured out.

"Mom wanna go with me to drop him…

Love the promise of a New Year!

I love New Year.  Just the promise of a fresh start is uplifting.  I always believe life will get better and it usually does.  My primary resolution for 2014 is to get my fabric stash organized.  We are setting up IKEA shelving units in what I have dubbed my fabric room.  It's just the back bedroom that could have been a guest room, but no, too much fabric in the house!  My goal for 2013 was to get more involved with my guild and in September I was elected VP Membership for the Coastal…

Happy New Year from the Pacific Northwest.  If you follow the river a bit more to the lower left you will be where I live. I'll put the teapot on and we'll have a party!  I took this when we were flying home from our trip to see Miss Bailey earlier this month.  Speaking of which.... here she is opening her gift from Nana and Papa, a new baby doll (yes, there will be…

Hope you enjoy looking at them they are just photos of copies out of my sketch pad from my beginning art class. I find it relaxing to set and doodle.

I hope to start my first Art quilt tomorrow I have a picture for inspiration and the fabrics picked…

Essential Pro Polyester thread question

I am used to using YLI and some OMNI threads.  I am wondering if many of you have used the Essential Pro Polyester thread for longarming, and if so, how you like it.  I am considering purchasing several colors.  Thanks!

Recently while in Branson, Mo I purchased 2 Crabapple Hill patterns.  Instructions say to back each piece of fabric for embroidery with muslin so that you will be embroidering through 2 thicknesses of fabric.  Does anyone out there know if this is absolutely necessary or is 1 thickness sufficient?  One of the patterns says this is "optional".  What do you think?

Thanks for your input.

High Fiber— Holiday Fun, Part 1

We had a great Christmas visit in Wisconsin.

It was a white Christmas, and when it wasn't too cold, we had some play time.

The presents were lovely. For example, here's my Fabric Haul, part one. (More coming during a shopping trip to Kokomo/Indianapolis.)…

Came home from our son's house the day after Christmas and woke up to this the following morning.  Burr.... Everything is frozen.  We don't have a blade of grass or a leaf anywhere that doesn't have this frozen stuff on it.  I think our high yesterday was 27 degrees and it stayed gray and cloudy all day.  Wish i could say I spent the day in my sewing room but alas, I didn't.…
