It is still cold here in Wisconsin even though the sun is shining. One sure sign that winter is near the end is we finished our curling season today. My husband and I curl (and try to remain upright on the ice). This weekend was our end-of-the-year bonspiel (tournament). We curled on Wed., Fri., Sat., and today. Last night was also the cocktail party, dinner, and dancing. We made it to the final four, but this sure cut into my quilting time. I have been trying so hard to finish some UFO's. I… Continue

Here I am in Kauai and I am still thinking of quilting. As I was perusing one of the tourist magazines they have here in Hawaii, I noticed an ad for a shop thar sells Hawaiian print fabrics. My first thought was what a cute table runner I could make out of Hawaiian prints, and what a terrific souvenir that would be. I quickly emailed my friend Linda for some fabric amlounts for a couple of patterns from Let's Do Lunch. I'm hoping we will find some down time from the beach to run into town and… Continue

Early tomorrow morning my husband and I and 3 other couples are leaving for Hawaii. It'll be great to leave icy northern Wisconsin for warm weather. No quilting for a while. Hopefully I'll have a chance to catch up on some reading on the beach. My friend Linda and I have almost finished The Very Hungry Caterpillar quilts. They have been a fun project and great for children who love the book by Eric Carle. Our next project is going to the Underground Railroad quilt. It sure is nice to have Linda… Continue

I completed my table runner from Let's Do Lunch last night. What a fun project! Out with the snowman runner on my table and on with the new runner. Looking forward to my next project,

I am back in Wisconsin after 2 weeks in Seattle. Our new granddaughter waited until the day before I had to leave to arrive, but she made it (9 days late!). Her name is Maya Rae and she is healthy and adorable. I was able to hold her and spoil her a litle before I left. Now that I am home, I can work on completing my table runner and start some other projects I have accumulated. My friend Linda and I are each making a Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt.

I am still in Seattle waiting for granddaughter #2. Playing with #1 makes the waiting much easier. When she is resting I have been able to almost finish my runner. I wish I had a machine here becasue I would be tempted to hunt down a quilt show here in Seattle and start the Ribbon Candy runner.

I am in Seattle, awaiting the birth of our second grandchild - another girl. I am alternating between knitting some slippers for felting and doing some hand quilting on my runner. Of course, most of the time I am playing Barbie, Polly Pockets, and dollhouse with a two year old. It is fun to watch everyone else's progress.

My friend Linda got me started quilting. We made Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packers wall hangings togther, sewing side by side. She has ben my guide and conscience to keep me on task so I at least finish a few projects. (She also encouraged me to join this group.) I love to quilt, but have not had much time until now (recently retired). A group like this is also good for moral support. Thanks.
