Not every one knows that the folding of the American Flag represents something. Each carefully snapped fold,13 of them, has special meaning.
I honor those who have/do serve this country so we may fly this beautiful flag.
May it always preserve for us the rights, privileges and freedoms we enjoy today & always know that this "freedom" did not come without a price!
The 1st fold of our flag is a symbol of… Continue

Frazzling Rye GRASS, that is!
I am busy out in the flower beds, abandoned the pleasure of quilting for a less fun thing. Sigh, some things must be done, want to or not.
Because this is a non-brain cell event, it allows me to ponder the many things toward solving the problems of the world. It also allows me to ponder strange things...such as...gender. Yep, gender , as in male & female. (Don't get all alarmed, I always write out a tidy post! Sheesh!)
I wonder… Continue

How's everyone this AM? Perking right along here, getting ready for the 2 youngest G-Grans to come over & bring over their Mom with them. It will be a busy day, to say the least! :)
I hope you know that I am quilting my fingers to the bone working on Jane Stickle. I am determined to get her done sometime in this
lifetime. I am slowly making progress.
I have completed quilting 91 blocks, 22 patterned… Continue

Did you remember to say a prayer today?
It has been 15 years today since Timothy McVeigh bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, costing 168 innocent people their life, not to mention the families that were changed forever. I still pray for these people & I hope you do as well.

It seems I am not alone in my failure to change blades in the rotary cutter. Who knew there were HORDES of us rumbling around?

I have a serious problem, I think. I keep all my working tools in very good shape, I am an admitted neatness freak as in "everything has a place & I like everything in
it's place", I clean up the strings & snippets as I go....
So, what is my problem, you ask? One of the most wonderful time savers we quilters were ever gifted with, my rotary cutter. Now I have an assortment of cutters cause I am a gadget lover. I have pinkers… Continue

Many thanks for all your sweet comments on Sunbonnet!
Sissy was beside herself that the quilt was hers. She had watched me quilt on it & she would excitedly look & talk about the "babies" on it, but I never told her it was hers. Bless her sweet heart, she sobbed & sobbed when she opened it.
She calls me at least once per day to tell me that "such & such baby" (they all have names of course! :) ) loves a certain block best. She is SO excited!

The Journey of Sunbonnet
I began to look for a quilt pattern for Sissy days, weeks, & months ago. One that would suit her emerging personality from a baby to a little girl. I knew I had found the perfect match in The Ultimate Sunbonnet Sue.
Sissy was born with a myriad of health problems, resulting in the loss of a kidney by 4 months of age, the upper lobe of the other kidney… Continue

I am blessed with a large extended family! Sadly, they all live several hundred miles away. The contact is constant & the family unity is well maintained. Continue
We were blessed with a new addition to our family (a g-great nephew to me) on Dec 29. Unfortunately, he (Hunter) decided to make his entry wayyyy early & arrived weighing in at a whooping 2 lbs 6 oz. Modern miracles prevailed ,he thrived & was able to come…

A very good morning to you all! :)
I have a new day to shape & plan around on my "slate for the day". I am not sure what it will be yet...I am one of those goal setters & I work toward that each day.
Today, I might just coast along & see where the day ambles all on it's own steam. … Continue

my feet beneath me & I shall attempt the good fight to getting better.
