I like Oreo cookies but not hot weather but I have found out that Oreos like hot weather. My sister and I started building giant Oreo cookies before Double Stuffs came on the market. You just keep eating one side of the cookie and piling the filling together higher and higher. Anyway I have found out this week while it has been so hot out (and I don't have A/C) that the Oreo filling peels away from the chocolate cookie part way easier in hot weather than when its cool out. You can really build… Continue

Well kid #1 is on the bus and off to High School. If I don't get any phone calls I'll be good. Kid # 2 leaves in 2 hours and my mom will put him on the bus. Then tonight.... the homework and the first day of school it will all me mine. Filling out all those forms drives me batty after a while.
I hope anyone else starting school today or recently has a great day and I commiserate with those that get to fill out all the papers ;-)

This does make sense. See, my goal in life is to stay ahead of Walmart (at least as far as Holidays go) and I heard that our local Walmart received 2 tractor trailer loads of Thanksgiving stuff already. Labor day... never heard of it I guess and Halloween (only the best holiday of all ... no pressure on this one just buy candy its always the right gift) is going to get tucked in there somewhere I guess. But in order to stay ahead Merry Christmas. Now when you see Easter greetings at… Continue

Why do I even bother to get up on Mondays? Someone please tell me.
Today DH went to dr's twice because we got the time confused. When he did get there they told him that because of the type of work that he does (farms) he should keep his splint on another week (UGH!) It looks great other than that though.
My mail truck got towed in again. This time it was the transmission.
What a welcome back from vacation.

My DD has gone officially insane. It has taken her at least 2 hours to make this dog look like this (very nice I might add) but he will be his dirty grungy self 5 minutes after she lets him loose... Betcha!
The really goofy part is he sat there nicely and allowed
her to do this!

I survived a week of Girl Scout camp. I got to hang out with the boys all week. The male children of the volunteers need someplace for the boys to be so they have their own unit at camp. I had that unit. We fish and hike and fish and playing the creek and fish and play in the dirt and fish and eat watermelon and catch bugs and did I mention fish? I have untangled lines and people, unhooked fish, found shoes and socks and caught salamanders and worms and built k'nex vehicles.
There are 2… Continue

I wish I had a picture. You would never believe it. I have the boys at Girl Scout camp this week and today must have been dirt day. While some of us (ok I started it) were looking for the big snapping turtle in the pond some of the little guys were playing off to the side of the pavilion. This is normal. Then several of them started playing in the old fire circle. They were black before they were done. They looked like they had on war paint. They had a ton of fun though ;-)

Well not getting much sewing done on my "vacation". It is my week to volunteer at camp and as I am hanging out with the male children of the volunteers it is too dirty for me to even do any hand sewing. Oh well there's always next week.

We still have him but for the second time this week we thought we lost our puppy. 1st time he was sleeping in the bathroom. This time he escaped from a kennel we put him in at a cousin's house while we went out to lunch. I am probably one of the few people now who you will hear say I can't wait for him to get big. He's 30+ lbs at 11 1/2 weeks but I can't wait until he gets huge. Maybe then I won't have to worry that someone will try to steal him. It's sad but right now whenever he gets out of… Continue
