I had grandma's doilies tucked away in a closet for years. As a gift to my sisters I made them into quilts to put on their night stands........Don't throw or tuck anything away if it has special meaning.......

An old quilt top traveled from California to Eureka, Montana where a group of us hand quilters finished it. The top was made by Royal Neighbors of America, Alhambra Camp 7553, Hazel Army Oracle in 1953-54. Most of the 14 inch blocks were signed. The signatures as best I can read were Lelia, Vernice Hosp, Lillybell Wallace, Beckley, N.M.T., Hazel Jarmer, Millie Dobbins, Lizzie Mitchell, Getrude Lewis Deputy, MarionPlake, RossellBeneery, Cydia Miller, Maj Daniels. It was a pleasure to be… Continue

I am Judy Cogswell (long time member of QWU). I work with the Eureka Montana Quilt Show Committee basically with their advertising. Our show is always the first Saturday in August. This year was a great success, we had about 600 quilts on display and for sale. Two years ago our show administrators decided to retire and we were faced with not having a show. Fortunately the local businesses decided to take charge and started the show with a… Continue

Saturday, Eureka, MT will be decorated in quilts. If you are planning to attend, stop by the boutique at the Historical Village and say hello. I'd love to meet CT friends. This year we are also featuring a miniature quilt display in the library on the village grounds. Bring your camera, you will need it! There will be approximately 500 quilts of all sizes, some for sale. And don't forget to vote for your favorite quilt.

I was voted in as VP of our guild yesterday. Our guild needs a little pick me up. Soooooo, I'm looking for some fun ideas that other guilds do to spark interest and increase membership. I remember a while back reading about a guild doing an ugly fat qtr. contest. Any suggestions? Your responses may help a lot of guilds.......thank you

One year ago today Bernie came into out lives. We drove over a thousand miles to adopt him. He was feral and wandering through a Kansas snow storm when he was captured. Many miles, many rescues, many foster homes (good and bad) before he arrived home with us. Life has never been the same since. What a dog!!!!! … Continue

Finished! In Amish tradition, nothing is perfect and so one thing is left out. It was difficult for me a "perfectionist" to do it. What did I leave out?
And for those of you who know me, it wasn't Bernie, although he tried.

Snuggled underneath this old flannel patchwork quilt I made years ago is our Reina (our black mantle great dane) who is celebrating her "gotcha" day. She was rescued from a puppy mill where her breeding days were over and she was dieing of pneumonia. Two years ago she joined our family. Since we don't know her true birthday or age, we have decided to celebrate her "gotcha"… Continue
