I had a pretty good Spirit Led week last week.
I was able to quilt and bind the 'cross' quilt for baby Avery. The batting for the large quilt is in the dryer to remove wrinkles from being in the packaging. I hope to get the pinning done today. (I am out of my spray adhesive). I would have probably pinned it also.
On Avery, things are still looking real good for her. Her parents have been told that at this point, they see no reason why she can't come home…

The Spirit Led me this week. It kept me on task. I hope you had a Spirit Led week also.
As predicted and mentioned in the last post, we had ice and snow. It was so cold for Texas. We got down to 7 degrees one morning. Since Texas is not prepared for this type of weather, it shut down the schools for 2 days. The roads were impassable. We have many hills in the area and vehicles could not get up them. We also have narrow roads in many places in the country, so many slid…

I had a good Spirit Led week. I hope you had the same.
I was able to do some work on Avery's quilt. I started making the individual 'Dresden petals'. Of the 250 that needed done, I think I had 170 done. I was waiting on the fabric to finish. The fabric made it on Friday. Now I have all the 'petals' made and 200 of them sewn into the circle (10 petals each = 20 circles). 5 more circles are ready to go. After I get these together, I think the worst is over. I only have…

I hope you have had a Spirit Led holiday season.
I am sorry for the delay in posting. It got busy around here.
When I last posted, I was heading to make some organza tree ornaments. I did not get as many done as I wanted, but here is a taste.
Then we had blood work done on my husband and also teeth pulled. Lab work came…

Isn't that the case most of the time during the holidays, running behind. I was able to deliver the charity blanket throws last week.
On Saturday a church in another town runs what they call "Mobile Santa'. What that is a a travel trailer hauled by a pickup. The trailer is all decked out with Christmas lights. They set up specific stops in area towns, so that families can come see Santa. Anyway, one of the stops this year was one block away from our home. When I found…

Having a Spirit Led week, are you?
Yesterday morning got away from me.
Saturday Nov. 24th, Sean and Ryan got over here bright and early to hang the outside lights on the house. My husbands' medication causes dizziness and faintness, so he does not need to be on a ladder. Saturday afternoon, I got our little artificial tree up and decorated. Yeah!
I finished the 2 charity blanket throws. I hope to get them delivered tomorrow. …

I hope you had a Spirit Led Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends. I know I did.
I started to free motion quilt the cross quilt, but was totally disappointed, so I ripped it out! I had not done very much, so it was not too bad. I am now thinking about using my Flynn Quilt Frame. But I am going to put it off until I get some Christmas projects done.
My husband told me…

Our son, Ryan, and his wife, Erica had another check up on baby Avery this past week. They had an encouraging appointment considering. This is what Ryan texted us.
"Ventricles working well. Pulmonary valve at a -2.4 (z score) which is a little small, but good for a ToF kid. They will continue to track the growth of the pulmonary valve. Bridge of pulmonary artery are confluent - which is good. Overall, good…

Feeling blessed. No special reason other than I had a good week and was Spirit Led.
The organization I delivered the charity quilts to were very grateful. They wish they had more, with winter moving in. It does get cold in Texas. Maybe not as cold as Montana or Maine, but for Texans, it is cold. There are still many that are suffering still from the tornado that came through Van over 2 years ago. I told the lady that when possible, I will try to make more. Our Dollar…

Again, the Spirit Led me through the week.
Again, I come asking for prayers. Many of you have heard of the shooting in a rural town in south Texas. If not, here is a link: http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/05/us/first-baptist-church/index.html
Parents lost children, children lost parents, the pastor and his wife (were out of town) lost their daughter and many of the…

I was Spirit Led this past week. I hope you were also.
I had fun making some ITH Christmas ornaments. I am not really a Halloween person. Thanksgiving plans have be set for the family.
Here are the ornaments:
They look better in person. The colors do not really show well.
I also finished a charity quilt. I…

Though it was a real rough week, it was still Spirit Led.
My son and his wife had a OB/GYN visit on Wednesday. They went to mainly for the gender reveal. The results were put in an envelope to be given to Erica's sister for the party. That is not the only news they got.
The baby has a heart defect. They had to go to a pediatric cardiologist for confirmation.
This is part of the text message from our son:…

My week was Spirit Led, was yours?
We had a pretty good week, this past week. I was able to work a lot on on the embroidery machine. The weather is getting more seasonable. It has been warmer than usual here in Texas. The highs have been in the mid 90's, a little to warm for this time of year.
This coming Saturday is the reveal party for our expected 4th grandchild. I am so excited. I will be excited to share with you next week. I am thinking it is a…

Was your week Spirit Led? Mine was.
I am still praying for the victims of the shooting, hurricanes, fires, and earthquake (in Mexico). There is so much going on these days. Just this weekend, yet another hurricane (Nate) struck the gulf coast. I am so thankful that it moved fast through all areas. I am grateful for all answered prayers. I will wait for unanswered prayers, for they all are in God's hands and he will answer them in His time and in His…

I hope your week was Spirit Led.
First I want to say something that occurred overnight last night. I am speaking about the mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Please know that my prayers have been lifted up for the victims (including those unharmed physically), victim families, police, fire, paramedics, hospital workers (doctor, nurses, nursing asst., etc). I have prayed for the community also. I pray for the family of the shooter. This is a horrific catastrophic…

I have had a Spirit Led week, I hope you did also.
Last Monday we had a follow up doctor appointment for my husband and the trial he is going through. My husband told his general physician that he does not feel he has cancer. :( Me, after listening to both of his doctors, am convinced that he does. I told my husband that I feel it is in his best interest that he have any and all tests that the doctors suggest. That we can nip this in the bud, he has a chance to beat it. Then I…

Morning, I pray you have all had a Spirit Led week. I know I did.
Today my husband has a follow up appt, with his general practitioner. He gets to explain why he REFUSED to have a test done. I sort of agree, but early detection is the key to all possible cancers. I knew i could not talk him into it. I have been married to him for 40 yrs. I know when I can push and when to let it go.
Thursday, the twin (Ryan) and his wife who are expecting had a check up.…

That is what happens when you are retired sometimes. LOL
First, I hope all had a Spirit Led week last week. I know it was a hard one.
The recovery from Hurricane Harvey is underway, slowly in some areas, but at least it is moving along. Darren's father in law, who stayed in the Houston area during Harvey, seems to be doing fine. Irma is another story. That is going to be a mess from the get go. I am praying for all involved. From the victims, to the…

Prayers are fulfilled...Spirit Led week
Prayers for my husband are requested. He has a follow up visit with the urologist this week. My husband says that he is doing better and better each day. He does not want any invasive 'probing' done, which may happen this week. We will see. One day at a time, sweet Jesus...
A follow up on our oldest grandson. He passed his driving test! He is legal to get out on the road in a vehicle! Look out world.…

I hope you had a Spirit Led week, I know I did.
Monday was interesting. We had the solar eclipse to start the week. To end the week, there was a horribly destructive hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. And in between, I was an instructor.
But first, and update on my husband. The medication is working. He is able to sleep better and with less interruptions to go to the restroom.
We did not really get into the eclipse. We have both witnessed…
