Now Halloween is around the corner and I've been working on the Double Wedding Ring..only four more to do and then I can bind it. Yippee! I've started this quilt back in the 90's or was it mid 80's, stuffed it away until I batting time and I've been working on it on and off for the past year. Hand quilting it. It's not perfect matching but the quilting stitch has gotten better.
I can hardly wait until it's completely done. Binding and all.
Also working on the Feathered star…Continue
I've had computer problems and have been off line for about a week. I hope that I can restore all my email contacts to those who wish to view my blog on this site. However, I've lost those email addresses.
I'm working on finding them on line through my email client.
Please bear with me as I try to update my computer's information.
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.
We met with these lovely ladies through Madgi Csendes. The quilts are of that guild's meeting. We enjoyed their show and tell and then proceeded to do a project featuring little circle flowers and stitching to make a floral block. The pictures show many of us hard at work doing this project. I was too busy taking pictures to accomplish much on mine. But the book is photographed for those who wish to pursue making this kind of block. It was interesting as I'm sure many of on our tour…Continue
I've posted the pictures of our meeting with Magdolna (Magdi #2) recently. The meeting with this group was just as lively as the last group in Budapest only with homemade 'brew' called palinka with wine as a chaser. The food pastries were excellent too.
I'm sure that you'll find unusual quilts at this meeting; many quilts reflecting cutouts which I found to be rather a different technique. Some were traditional settings and some were unique in shape.
I hope that…Continue
To those who are following my blog posts..... here is the factory that we visited. Despite the language barrier, pictures are worth a thousand words. There are many pictures of interest found on this website.
You will find a good translation at this site. Just type in the website above and it will translate the Hungarian into English. Works like a 'charm'!

The pieces were cut out into kits and we proceeded to make them. It was fun to communicate with gestures and smiles. Although, I have some understanding of Hungarian, communication was, at times, a…Continue

Just arrived home from my trip to Hungary. I have many fond memories of places that I've dreamed of as a child of Hungarian heritage. I now own three Hungarian dolls that I've wanted all my life. I'm so happy.
Amoung other treasures of interest..that famous blueprint fabric in table clothes and clothing as well as fabric for quilting, Hungarian felted vests, laced and crocheted blouses, pottery, etc. Treasures that I'll enjoy and share with my family and…Continue
