Quilt With Us

Lately I have been in the mood to start going through my quilt room as well as my 2nd bedroom where I store some of my  quilt stuff, but mostly yarn, to get more of an idea of what I have.  I don't know whether to feel happy that I probably don't need to buy anything other than thread, batting  and stabilizer (for my embroidery machine) for the next several  years or guilty because I have so much stuff!  I found kits I had forgotten I even had.  That makes me feel guilty.

I did get one kit out & decided I didn't want to make the quilt the size the kit called for.  It had several fabrics that were 3/8ths of a yard in size so I was easily able to make a 40" square wallhanging of log cabin blocks with about half of the fabrics left over for another project.  Fortunately I had a piece of wide backing left over from another project that was just the right size so I basted the 3 layers together & it will get quilted on Wednesday.

Guess I should just tell myself that at least I did my part to keep the quilt shops open!  <smile>

Good morning, I just know what you mean about stash, I have been feeling guilty too, I am just finishing a strip quilt lockdown quilt I call it, I was amazed how lovely it looks, so it made me feel a little better, but still a way to go.

Happy quilting, it's my concentration that is awful at the moment, being glued to Clovis news.  Take care, Marianne UK.

Oh gosh, can I relate!  Slowly making a dent in things though.  Thank you so much for not being the reason any of those quilt shops closed.

Shoppin' the stash is always a fun way to reacquaint yourself with what's been put away for years.  Glad you found something fun to work on.

I can relate Janet. I have much more fabric then I need. But it saves me from running to the store every time I want to make something. I want to make my seven grand kids a quilt so that will use up a lot of the fabric. After I get the face masks finished I want to get back to making a quilt for my bed. It's cut out just needs to be sewn.
