I spent a couple of hours at the Fabric Shack in Waynesville, Ohio today. Row upon row, aisle after aisle of fabric. Glorious colors, exquisite designs, every imaginable decade and style represented. One of the best selections of batiks in our area.
It's weird, but I noticed (and several others did, too) that after a while, it was just hard to focus. With so many choices, so much to see, and every surface filled with goodies, it's easy to have sensory overload.
But I did pick up some batiks for a Hawaiian wall quilt I'll be starting soon. And I did a major raid on two huge tables of short fabric pieces priced at $2.98 a yard. Even found a beautiful light batik! The pieces were all under a yard, some as short as a few inches. But all top quality.
And I also scored quite well at a local yard sale held by a gal who used to own a quilt shop. $3 a yard for wonderful fabric (including a lovely traditional Christmas design with beautiful gold metallic accents). Also picked up tools and supplies for next to nothing, and brand new patterns for $1.
Yep, it's been a great weekend in Quilt Land!
