Quilt With Us

I've just posted two tutorials for Log Cabin month. One is for beginners on how to assemble your quilt top. The other is Log Cabin blocks with a twist and includes a tutorial from a guest blogger, QuiltDad.

Since I didn't have any photos to share with you, and this post looked a little bland, I thought I'd share a few kitty outtakes from my tutorial. Tucker is the white and black kitten, aka The Brat, and Marty is the oh-so-mature guy.

Ahh, I am a dog person in the middle of cat people!. But I love the pics and the quilt! The minute I lay out a quilt to baste it, my dogs all lay claim to a different part of it. I literally have to pick them up one by one and put them outside until I am finished. You would think I would have learned by now and put them outside first!

My DH tells anyone who admires one of my quilts, "All her quilts are cat tested for nap-ability! If it doesn't have stray cat hair on it, it's not one of hers!" :)

No matter where I put my quilts the cats seem to have radar and find it to lay on for a nap. Then there is Stripe who watches carefully as I sew...checking to see if it is a 1/4 inch seam, I think. lol Love your cats! Two cats are so much fun! Even when I go to my daughters and sew there are her two cats to take my cats place... They all love to hold the fabric down when I am trying to cut my strips!

Karen, these pictures could have come from photos I have taken--or tried to take--of my quilts. Many times I will have a least one cat in one picture. Thanks for sharing.

I get such a kick out of cat's and their antics. I honestly have always thought that they can read your mind.
Some years back a friend of mine told me this story (bear with me) about a cat on her home farm when she was growing up.
Her mother was hosting her bridge club one afternoon. As the ladies were arriving, their friendly cat was sitting by the door observing. The afternoon went on as planned. But when everyone got ready to leave, the cat had gone out and got party favors for the guests. She had caught a mouse for everyone there, (exact number) and lined them up by the door so they would see them when they left.
No kidding! True story! Kind of makes you wonder......

What is it about kitties and quilts in all stages? I sure miss mine. Your Tucker reminds me a lot of Kasih!
