Quilt With Us

We have the snow & the hill if anyone else has the sled!  My power has gone off for a few seconds this morning and my internet acted like it was going to go off, but it didn't go completely.  This is a very heavy wet snow.  Fortunately (knock on wood) we have not lost any branches off our trees, but our neighbor's tree has several broken branches, some of which have fallen in to our yard.  We have a power line in the backyard that is dragging very low to the ground as well.  This storm was worse than what we had last week Thursday and that was no picnic to deal with.  Guess I will just hand quilt today so I don't draw more power using my sewing machine.

We were hoping for a little bit of what you got.  We need the moisture so badly - in whatever form it comes!  We had 8" last week, but only 1" this time around.  You win!  Your lawn & spring flowers will love this when the weather warms up and the sun comes out.  In the meantime - enjoy your quilting time!

Love the snow when it sticks to everything. I am sure it is a winter wonderland where you are.  I realize with so much snow it can get dangerous but there is so much beauty in a snow filled landscape.  One good thing about being a quilter is you have lots of good warm quilts to wrap up in!!!

Great picture.  You are sure getting pounded in that part of the country.  I have a son in Kansas so I have been following the last two storms closely.  The heavy snow combined with the winds does not make for good traveling conditions, that's for sure.  Hope you can just hunker down, and enjoy some quiet quilting time.

Holy smokes what a sight! We've been tuned to the weather channel here in NJ and await our next storm with great anticipation! Mostly freezing rain and some snow and ice. Hope your power remains on and you can enjoy quilting with the heat on .

OMG...Janet it's beautiful. We are located a little north of St. Louis. Missouri & thought we would get some of this snow...but thankfully nothing yet. Now they are predicting an 1" or so. We can deal with that, as we had 10" last Thurs. So this would be like nothing! Hope you keep your power. I don't know how they did it in the "old days".

My backyard looks the same as yours, Janet.  More snow is predicted today.  It's school vacation time, and the public park is packed with kids sledding; there's also a frozen pond near the school and kids are busy playing hockey and skating.

I should have bought a pair of snow pants so I could go with my DGD up the hill.

Oh my, that is impressive!  Hate to tell you, but the sun is shining brilliantly in California today, and it is supposed to stay nice until at least Sunday when we may have thunderstorms.

I hope you don't lose power. These storms are so amazing. I was looking at the weather channel yesterday and there was Amarillo, TX on the screen--huge snows, winds, and it was moving your way. lived there when I was in grade school and we had a storm like that, no school for a week. In the meantime, I'm in NW Wyoming, no snow, the sun is shining, no wind (mark that on the calendar) and unseasonably warm.

Stay safe, enjoy your quilting!
