As I start my blog it is March 9th and we woke up to -35degrees C. Too cold for March, but we are a hardy bunch! And being house bound allows more time for quilting and that's a good thing. Also the sun is shining. I have spent the past year trying to finish up my UFO's. We had a challenge in our quilt guild to finish UFO's and it did give me a boost to work on them. I have finished several items but now I mostly have big quilts left to do. I love making tops but then am not so good at getting them finished and useable. Can anyone relate to that? I would really like to work on something new again. During the winter months a group of ladies meet every Thursday for a day of quilting or anything we want to work on. One lady usually does cross stitch. We call it 'ladies day out'. It is so nice to get together with friends. I live in a rural area so we have a need to create our own entertainment.

Hi Jane, that was a cute one and it is a wall hanging. I can send you the pattern because I will never make it again. - that is once I find it. I've had a quick look and I haven't located it. But I'm sure I will. If you send me your address I would be happy to forward it to you. If you don't want to put your address on this site, I could give you my email address and you could send it to me that way. Cheers, Darlene

Darlene, I love your quilt top with the ladies having tea. Could absolutely see this as a banner for my Red hatter meetings. Do you remember where the pattern came from? Thanks. - Jane

Hi Darlene, I too can relate. I just finished putting 3 backings together and getting ready to start on another one. My quilts seem to be getting bigger and bigger. This one is King size and I have a Queen size bed. Oh well Maybe I can use it as a bedspread. I have one UFO left and that's a wedding ring I work on between projects. I do have 4 other quilts going all at the same time. Whew, I really don't know how this happened. Oh well it's fun.

Hi Darlene, I can totally relate. I have probably 6 - 8 tops needing to be finished. I've made it a goal this year to finish up UFO's....and TRY not to start anything new until I do....but it's sooo hard. I'm going to take a machine quilting class sometime next month....then maybe I'll get some done! Well take care & try to stay warm! Happy quilting! Marie

Morning Darlene, went to bed last night with 6+ inches. Got up this morning and had to clean it. The sun is shining so that is good. Maybe get up to near 40 today. I would like to see mid 80's or hotter. I have 6 tops to quilt and counting. I have a mid-arm quilting machine but it is in the basement, and the basement is kinda cold. I love to sew them, start new before the one I am working on gets done. I am now working on 3 different ones. I sew a little on each. I also have 2 others that I had been working on but put up so I could start new. So UFO's all over the place, maybe one day they will get done. It is nice to get together with other ladies and have a "ladies night", I miss those.
