Quilt With Us

OMG--what an experience to walk into the George R Brown convention center in Houston. Quilts everywhere! My best friend and I started looking at quilts on Thursday morning at 10, took a break for lunch and another for coffee--otherwise we kept look, look, looking until 6PM. By 11:00AM we had already lost the ability to say much more than "did you see this?". Awesome. The next day we looked at quilts from 10AM to 7PM. We tried to see everything at least once before heading to the vendor's mall. At 3PM we started shopping.

Did you know that our BJ had photographs on display at the show? She did! So much talent.

On Saturday, our last day, we checked out the vendors and then went back to the quilts. Sort of back and forth.

We didn't take any classes but did stop by and see some short presentations by well known quilters. Too much fun.

Then we had to come home.

The quilt was the theme quilt for this event and set up to have pictures taken--above the quilt is a sign saying something like--I'm at the quilt show.

Our chapter president went this year...she had lived in Tx a few years back and got to go with some of the gals she knew....sounds awesome and overwhelmiing at the same time. I think she said there were 2,000 vendors..and of course lots of beautiful quilts....I cannot even imagine....fun...fun...fun

What a fun trip!  Can't even imagine being able to take it all in.  So glad you had the opportunity to go.

Sounds like you had an awesome time and I'm so glad you got to see my photographs. I'd love to see how they looked but know pictures weren't allowed.  Such an amazing show!

Sounds too good to be true, and to spend it with your best friend besides, what a wonderful experience.  Ah-h, someday...

Lovely picture Barbara. I think you two look enough alike to be sisters.  It's wonderful to take in these shows and see the beautiful work and talent involved.  I'm sure you had fun shopping for those "must haves" that you just couldn't do without.

I can't even begin to think how much fun that was. The amazing quilts and artists in this world!
