I took my machine in for a service call…will not be working on anything for awhile. Have some books I want to knock off. When I start reading, hubby is lucky there's food in the house. I will read six books and then do something else for awhile.

We swim at 2 pm and solve most of the world's problems…lately, I have no answers….very sad. My prosthetic place is two blocks from where the murders took place in Orlando. Dr. Cheatum who has been interviewing is a good friend. Hubby has collaborated for years with him. He definitely has done a tremendous job under horrible circumstances. Just never think you would know someone involved that closely to something so horrific. Prayers for all….

I think I'll have a beer...

I agree with the read to escape philosophy. The reason a lot of people read (or write) mysteries is because there is closure. A solution. Punishment if needed. Real life is not so neatly tied together. I hope you enjoyed your beer.

Oh, and I think I'm the middle lady in your picture. I can't seem to keep track of the day of the week anymore.

I love reading, but with all my fiber activities, I prefer having someone read them to me, so I get the audiobooks, either from the library as a loaned download, or from Audible.

Love your photo. That's so funny!

pam enjoy your beer. too much sadness for sure.why can't we all just get along?  all we can do is send prayers and good wishes.

i love your cartoon. have fun at the lake. i have always been a reading machine. what do you like to read? i usually read mystery/forensics fiction but have branched out a bit lately and read some very good books.@pq i loved the call the midwife series. went onto read a book about a midwife in an appalachian poor area. also very good. some good non fiction out there too.

You wonder how people can kill so many, just because they believe or are different than others and think they are making the world a better place to live. I feel so sad so those who lost their loved ones. Your DR. sounds  like a very good man and is doing a great job helping others.  I also love to read and have a Kindle Fire loaded with books. Find them online at Amazon or at libraries for free. Many days, I have left the laundry started at 9:00 AM in the washer until mid afternoon or forgot to start dinner when sewing.

Love the cartoon Pam.

I too feel just heartsick over the fact that there is so much hatred in this country toward other people.  Just like the people who did the killing in San Bernadino CA, how in the world can you have a child of your own & then do something like this?  Huge kudos to the medical personnel, police officers and other rescuers.

Have you read the "Call the Midwife" books?  Mom just finished those and thought they were very well done.  (Just feeding the addiction!)

I can relate to this post.  I prefer to call it mind overload.  I'm like you with the reading.

The murders in Orlando is just plain horrible. It's getting worse all the time. Like Barb said it must be striking you hard knowing Dr. Cheatum and the Orlando area.  Remember the Dr. in Boston who was shot by a man right in the hospital?  That Dr. was going to be the one to take my cousins lung out.

She had to wait weeks before they could find another Dr. to take his place.  These tragedy's affect people everywhere.

Love the humor!

The Orlando situation is so incredibly sad, and I am sure even more so for you with your connection to Dr. Cheatum, and knowing the area.  Yes, prayers continue for all.  And cheers, to the fantastic medical staff that did such great work under high stress conditions.

Enjoy the good reads at the lake.
