Quilt With Us

Well Pam aparently no one appologized for ordering this weather! My quilt guild meeting was cancelled...Again. For snow. We only meet once a month which in itself is a bummer. Haven't had a meeting since Nov 7. And that was the night my Dad passed away. Sighs. No wonder it took so long to find my quilting MoJo.

Sorry to hear about your Dad.  The sun is finally shinning here today!  Still cold as all get out but I will take the sun for sure!  We are supposed to get a couple more inches tomorrow and I have a 40 min travel one way to get to my sit and sew at my church!  I'm going so stir crazy I don't care how much we get I'm driving in it even if I have to drive out in the field to get there!

Quilting is therapy. Snow predicted here again this evening so I'm heading over the mountain this afternoon. I predict I will run right into it. Car is filled with books and chocolate. I should be fine.

As the president of my guild this year I have been keeping a close eye on the weather.  Our rule is if the local schools are closed, the we don't have a guild meeting.

Well now I feel better! Thanks everyone. We have been blessed here in E Central Indiana not to have power outages. I am grateful for that! There was a short outage in a town a few miles away. Someone slid on ice and took out a light pole! I did sew last night. And it felt so. Very good.

Just heard from DS, who is teaching school in the arctic village of Kaktovik this winter.  He said they had just called a "snow day" this morning because the wind was gusting at 65 mph, and visibility was about 5 feet.  He says his whole house is shaking! That's what it takes to have a snow day above the arctic circle!

I am looking forward to warm weather also.  I don't mind the snow half as much as these sub zero temps.  Luckily our sewing group has dodged the bullet and hasn't had to cancel.  But some of our Christmas programs at church had to be canceled.

It is bad enough to have snow...but, when it causes us to cancel important outings that is a bummer! We made it to Roanoke, VA. Very icy in PA but the roads were dry. Lots of electrical trucks heading north to help with the outages. Heading south is very good!!!!!
