Quilt With Us

I have had a very busy week.  Bud took a critical turn for the worse and I went to Machias 4 times last week.  He died late Sunday night.  It's a blessing, his dementia was at it's peak and he was nothing more then a skeleton. His son is coming the 27th and the graveside service will be held on the 29th. He will be buried with military honor's. A CD of him and his friend, Frank will be played as well.

On a more cherry note I spent the day up at the hall on Tues. and got a lot of my second quilt done.  It has a lot of applique on it so it's taking awhile cutting and ironing.  At least when I sew in the Rec. Hall I don't have as many interruptions as I do when I'm home.  The phone never ring unless your knee deep in a project and then it rings off the hook.  I get so irritated when I answer it and it's those scam calls. Yesterday I got one and the man asked if I was there.  I said "who wants to know" he paused a minute then went into his selling speech.  That's when hang up.

I hope your all having a good Summer and enjoying the great out doors. ~ Irene

Thank you everyone.  Bud's memorial service went well. A CD he and his friend cut played as the guests gathered. He got to sing at his own funeral. I carried out his wishes to bury our dog Brownie with him and the weather was beautiful with a breeze blowing that kept the bugs at bay. Now we are both at peace.

Irene, I've been off the site for awhile. I'm so sorry to hear this news. I know how awful dementia can be. I am sorry for the loss of who Bud was.

Hi Irene, so sorry to hear about your loss.  It's never easy loosing someone your close to.  It's been over a year sense my moms passing and I still feel lost on my days off work.  Hugs and prayers for you and the family.

Thank you all for your kind words. In spite of how hard it was watching his decline and ultimate death, I'm at peace.
