Quilt With Us

Here on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska we are gearing up for our annual
Christmas Bazaar! It is such a great time of all different crafty/artist types getting
together to sell their wonderful creations!
My girlfriend and I have quilted some table runners that we are so excited about!
We have change the variations in pattern and fabrics! We have sold at this bazaar
for years and always get excited to see other ladies get excited about what we have
made to sell!
We enjoy country fabrics of all kinds and are adding beads and buttons to our
creations!
We are also excited that a friend of ours here in Thorne Bay has set up a long arm
machine and will be able to quilt our creations without us having to send them out
of town/state!
I have my Grand children staying with me Ages 11 and 9. Rachel is nine and she is
just learning to blanket stitch around a santa suit that I make and fill with candy
to sell at the bazaar! She is already stitching up her second one! I enjoy seeing her
so excited about sewing!
We have sugar cookies baking now for the bazaar to sell as christmas trees! It
really helps having the snow outside, feels like Christmas already!!
I would enjoy hearing from any one out there!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a wonderful bazaar you are part of. Your excitement is catching! It's great that the grandkids are getting into it, too. Good for them. I'm sure they have a very good, patient teacher. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Teresa, I am guessing that Prince of Wales is closer to Juneau than Anchorage. I visited my sister and her family in Anchorage in 2006 and loved every minute of the 6 weeks I stayed. We visited a lot of places in day trips and then we would go for 3 or 4 days and it was all so different than here. I even went to a bazaar(?), I guess, it was an outdoor sale with lots of booths and tables and I bought some things. I think I would be ready in a heart beat to go back if I could. Good luck with your sale and I hope you sell everything....................
