Quilt With Us

We have been holding our breath at the lake house...the property beside us sold without us knowing, it was for sale. We just found out, that the neighbor across the road, up a ways bought it! This is the nicest family...we are thrilled. Had we known it was for sale, we would have tried to bid on it...to protect ourselves from rowdy party people! This is the best gift I've gotten this year! Also, saved us a chunk of money!

Been working on redoing a nine patch quilt into a lap size. Some of the fabrics are unique! Probably late 30's-40s...will post a picture next week. It's a wedding gift.

The leaves are turning fast...very pretty...lots of reds this year. The weather is perfect and we are soaking up every minute....because...It's Coming!!!!

Happy you got the good neighbors!  We were in the same position at the mountain house:  We were interested in the property right next door, then it sold before we knew it was for sale!  The cabin is in need of some very basic work (foundation is pitiful), but we wanted to protect the five giant ponderosa pines on the property and would probably have removed the cabin.  I think it was sold within the family after the death of the original owner.  There is a lot of clutter on the lot, and we're hoping the new owner will clean it up (something of a fire hazard).  However, the property owner on the other side said they knew the new owner and, "she's a piece of work."  Oh, goodie!  It looks like you got the good luck!  Congratulations!

It can be very important to have good neighbors! I am very pleased to be in the little village we are in. Quite a few of the residents, like us, grew up and moved back here. I think that that says a lot about a place. Congratulations on the tried and true neighbors.

I suspect that even your definition of rowdy has changed over the years :-p

Glad you'll have good neighbors - they are probably saying the same thing about you right now.

Looking forward to the pictures of your nine patch.
