DH wanted a cup of coffee this morning, just one cup, so he used his press that will do one cup right into the mug.  He got his coffee beans ground up fine ... then the fun began.  When he put the grounds into the press and lifted it to place over his mug he discovered that he did not have the base (where the filter and strainer is located) screwed on, so all the grounds went all over the counter. LOL  Not one to waste good grounds, he screwed the bottom onto the press and took the grounds off the counter and placed them into the press and placed it over his mug. Then he got the hot water and poured it in, stirred it all around a bit. Next he put the plunger in and pushed ... and discovered that although the bottom was screwed on, it was not screwed on tight enough ... yep ... it all fell into the mug, the bottom piece, filter, and grounds, along with some spilling onto the counter. LOLOL  But wait... there's more.  Still not ready to give up he poured the contents of his mug into another container and got a large coffee filter and put it over his mug and poured the coffee and grounds onto it, to drip into his mug. All went well ... until ... he readjusted his fingers holding the filter and, yep, you guessed it ... it all dumped into his mug! ROFLOL   At this point it all went down the drain and he started fresh. I am happy to report the second time round all went well and he is enjoying his cup of coffee and I greatly enjoyed the laughter. (Yes, we are still speaking to each other)

OMG! I loved the story. I know that my husband would most likely have thrown the whole hot mess into the trash.

Laughter is the best medicine and got lots of it. I don't drink coffee either and so DH makes his own using his coffee press. He usually has 2 cups. I love my hot chocolate in the mornings. Thanks for sharing his good day!!!!!!

Thanks for the good laugh BJ.  I think my husband would have just given up after the 1st disaster.

He was persistent and resourceful and pretty patient for not having had his first cup yet.  Some days just go this way.  Laughter is good.

Coffee is DH's department. I don't drink it. I could make it, but....

The rest of his day has been almost as good. One of those "I should have stayed in bed" days. LOL

Just a thought here but maybe you  should get him that first cup of coffee so that when he wants his cup of coffee he would be awake enough to function, I mean the coffee press will function without problems.

Too funny!  I think my DH would have given up after the first disaster.

BJ,, oh what a great laugh, and I can actually see it in my mind. Our oldest DS was in town over the weekend,, needed. Got 2 screws in the rear tires,,, hard pressed to find someone to fix the tires. I was making cookies at the time,, asked DH to remove the ones I had just put in the oven. They were on parchment paper, which slid as he removed them,, some cookie dough fell on the floor,, some on oven door. By that time,, the cookie sheet ended up being tossed on the floor along with a few choice words. I ended up cleaning the mess, telling him he would deal with the washer next time. Cookies were baked when we came back home,, with tempted chocolate instead of chips.
