Quilt With Us

We have been in our new Nest (Senior Apartment House)...and everything has worked out just fine...a little tight, but we are learning to dance around the kitchen table...the tightest room is the bedroom!..with a Queen Air Mattress, that is out of control!...it now measures 8 feet wide and 10 feet long...it was definitely built for the Giant, of Jack and the Bean Stock fame! Oh, and the best part is the height of the Giant's bed...4 feet tall. So, we must use stools to climb in!...this is what happens when you buy a Bed in a Box!!
......Living here, is like living on the top floor of the Mental Ward at a Psych. Hospital.....Everyone is either on uppers or downers....Pick your poision..Alcohol or drugs...they don't repair us, they just medicate us!!
.....Rock and Roll music plays continually through all the halls in the buildings, to remind us of Happy Days ...in fact, romance is alive and doing well here...age knows no boundaries....
Welcome to my New World....and someday, in the future ...Yours!...Enjoy the Journey!!

Hi GramK...it is good to hear from you...a beautiful day but chilly..more rain in is coming...I was busy pulling out my silk Spring flowers to make wreaths and flower arrangements for our apartment.....next payday, I am planning on buying lots of fresh flowers for my containers on our patio...I hope it works and not getting fried in our desert heat...I love the smell of petunias and stocks plus roses and gardenias....I too love to cross stitch, when my back won't hold up to sew...getting sleepy, so I will say good night!..Enjoy your Journey!

Barbara,...hi!..since we only have one bedroom, I am using the Sewing Table, here at the Nest...the Sewing Table Club...is a room,( in a wide hall),where we have set up 3 tables for sewing/ crafting for the ladies....that is where I am sewing ....I will take pictures for my. Nest Album, so you can see....since we are out in the open, we catch the ladies coming out of the elevator...a lot of chatter goes on, and little sewing LOL. .....I also have a sewing room at my DD's home called the Castle..because, it is built like a castle...that is where the serious piecing is done...;;;;;) You are right about the bed...I have only 2 feet to get around the bed!..my DH is 6ft 4" and 320 lb..so he gets stuck sometimes..LOL

Oh, my the bed sounds like the thing in the old movie "The Blob". It started small an kept growing and growing and growing. I hope you can tame it or get rib of it.

You have such a great attitude. Did you find a place to set up your machine?

Kathy, thanks for the update. I'm with you. Keep your hand tight in the hand of the Lord. Sometimes we are where we are, not for ourselves or any lesson we have to learn, but for someone else who needs a kind word, a hand to hold, someone to walk alongside in the hard places. I am glad you are willing to be that one. God bless you.

Kathy, get rid of that bed...someone will buy it...that sounds like a broken hip ready to happen. I had to laugh about the romance line!!! A friend works in a senior residence in Ft Myers...she said STDs are rampant!!! They must not have gotten the sex education classes in school!

Keep up the sense of humor...it helps!

I have asked myself the same question..why am I here?...only the Good Lord know why are there!..but I am, so I will make the best of it!..remember beneath the pain, that one carries around is a hurting child in a big body!...our job, while we live on this Earth is to bring comfort and joy...Life changes everyday, and then I am reminded, that could be me in a terrible state, where I need help....Who will help me?....Years ago, when my DH had a nervous breakdown, our family abandon us!..they acted like we were. "Contagist".. They were just afraid!...we are all afraid of life, and where it may lead us!...Don't Be!..Keep your hand tight in the hand of the Lord, and He will bring you though!
