Aran Jacket for DGD

I have finished a Aran Jacket which is for youngest Granddaughter
The pattern acutally said for size 26 but fits a 30 so as I needed a 30 I went ahead & did it.
I done it longer than it stated as she likes them longer, & it has come out even after sewing up to a 30 inch she slim & while they say that the size for her age I think she may be a little bit less in the chest
The pattern is double moss stitch for the back, hood & sleeves with a 12 row pattern for the front

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to do some looking. I love cabled sweaters!!

Anastaia they are cables but what i am saying is that you use just knit & purl stitches, so you may put stitches on to a cable needle then knit or purl from main needle then knit or purl from the cable needle i certainly found it was easier than socks until i had mastered how to do socks it like anything it always seems hard to you know how to do it but give it a go look for patterns that is no more than a 8 row repeat to begin with

So you're just doing knit & purl? These aren't cables? Wow, I might have to give that a go!! :)

Thanks Anastaia i always say if you can do a knit & purl stitch then you can do this i mostly go for Aran that 8 row repeat so it not too hard especially now when i was much younger i did a 40 row repeat but not now lol

What a beautiful sweater Janice. You are so talented.  I never learned to knit but I always said some day I will.  I just might learn yet lol

Thanks Laurie

I have knitted Adult size Aran & don't mind it in someways it easier as you can get in to the flow better on each row before having to change lol

I am not sure what i will start for the next knitting project i guess it will be socks, good luck with your next project

This is a really nice sweater!  I knitted sweaters for my kids and my grandson when they were small. Key word there is "small"....I'm not so small and that's the reason I haven't knitted one for myself...LOL.  I have a afghan that is a UFO...actually two of them. One is a no brainer pattern and the other is count, count , count.  If I get those finished I will be doing good.  The no brainer one will be my next truck project for the winter....it's big enough to cover my legs and will feel good this winter.
