Quilt With Us

This will be my 1st blog on here so hoping I get it right, this one is more on knitting but hope to share my quilting as well with you.

I guess it a case of trying to get motivated after Christmas they say January & February are months that you tend not to do things so much.

I done a pair of socks using the Online Emotion lll Range this is the latest range I have which I think  is their latest as well in this range.

The yarn is 50% Merino Wool, 25% Bamboo & 25% Polyamid it a lovely soft yarn which does knit up well.

If I am to be totally honest & give the fore & against on this yarn my only moan is that it don't follow a set colour pattern so trying to match both socks up perfectly you can't but you can see that the same colours ect are used & I do like them.

I use Online range a lot they have several different lines which of course Emotion which they have now at least 3 different lines under Emotion which are Emotion, Emotion ll & lll they also do Irish Colour, Canadian Colour, Wellness & Spot colour some knit up more like a fair-isle which I really like but the Emotion range is the softest range so do really like this range.

I hope to if possible get some orders for socks or at least sell some but since my last orders before Christmas I haven't been lucky enough to get any.

I also done some dishcloths which are Darrell Waltrip cloth which you can find the pattern at

http://www.knittingknonsense.com/DW_cloth.html

I also have done some facial mittens

I used a variegated yarn just as wanted to try these out could look very nice in some pastel shades but solid/plain colours which would work well with a back scrubber as a nice little gift

Well I hope that you like my first post of the blog & hope to do more

Hi Barbi

If you can do a knit stitch & a purl stitch then you can do these, as i do the rib which is 1x1 then rest is knit i use double pointed needles & that the worst part learning how to use those if you not used them before, once you done a few rows it easier.

You can inbox me then i can send you a easy pattern if you give me your e-mail addy

Hugs janice

Janice, I was just on YouTube today looking at demonstrations on cable knitting and I was wishing how I knew someone who could help me.  I haven't knitted much but I do understand the difference between knit and purl.  I love your socks!!!  Are those a project that requires circular needles?  See how many questions I have just waiting to be clarified/explained!!!  I'd love to "talk".

WOW...You are sooooo talented.  I'm sure if I knitting I'd probably poke my eye out.  As it is now with quilting, I'm forever poking my fingers.  Love your socks....I too wish you lived closer...it would be fun to have a down home friendly knitting class.  You knit and I'll fix the treats.

Janice! socks are very stylish. I think (from working in high school classes 5yrs ago) wearing 2 different socks indicated (silently) anger of wearer over life in general or primitive way to show dislike of school, system of gov or anger over circumstances of life. For me wearing 2 dif color socks, it was the state of my always unfinished laundry & if I was angry over something, students asked, but it was none of their business. Therefore your socks are unique, without lots of loose ends to work in, very beautiful in colors & a special way to care for feet. Always comfy. Love from Betty
