Quilt With Us

The fire near us is now 25% contained - which is excellent news!  Our cooler temps this last week or so and a little moisture in the air has helped. It is up high in some inaccessible areas. We've had 400 firefighters working on it and 4 helicopters dropping water, etc.  No structures have been involved and it looks like it should be out by the end of the month. What a blessing. Had it started a couple of weeks earlier it would be a much different outcome.  The really maddening thing is that is was human caused. You can bet if they find who started it (even unintentionally) they are going to prosecute.  We are in a NO FIRES area with it so dry.

Wednesday I had two friends over and taught them how to paper piece. We used a free Craftsy pattern. It was such a fun day.  Here's mine ... ready to sandwich and quilt (soon?)

Very cute pattern BJ!  I was thinking of you when I watched the news with all those fires.  So glad you are ok.

What a fun pattern!

As for fires, we have major warnings on our side of the mountains. Smoke has come to us from California and Canada and a few fires quickly contained. Everyone is hoping for mountain snow.

So glad the fire is hopefully controllable and will be out soon. With a day spent with friends you can't go wrong!!!!

Love a day with fun friends...especially, when you get a great project at the end. So happy to hear the fires are a little better. Turning that around is rough. Very brave people to fight such a beast.

Sweet! Good luck with the fires. Our niece in Puyallup has been concerned, and we are concerned about her and her environment, not to mention all the beauty we found when visiting there. Some of my local quilting buddies and I put together a paper-pieced pattern of pines trees for our friend Joanie, but not nearly as intricate as these.

Cute project, BJ.  I'm not real adept at paper piecing, but I love the precision.

Glad the fire situation is improving.

So glad to hear things are turning around and the cooler, damper air is helping.
