I am looking forward to the temps finally falling...can you believe it will be close to 100 degrees again in Indianapolis today? Give me a break...it's September! I bet it's going to turn into one of those summer into winter years where we're still wearing our sandals at Thanksgiving while we're Christmas shopping! Augh! I love the Fall...please, BRING IT ON!
Well, if you follow me on Twitter RKM_QUILTS or Facebook, you already know my big news from yesterday. I learned about 3pm that I was chosen to be one of the people to represent IU Bariatrics in their upcoming marketing campaign! This involves a photo shoot for brochures, posters and etc. next Wed morning at the center, then later in the month an ad agency from Chicago will be doing a commercial spot with me. Woohoo! I am so excited! I was chosen from a long list of patients who have had great success in the program and actually "changed" their lives after surgery. I have now lost 200 pds and still losing a pound or two every now and then. Talk about changing my life, huh?
So, I would assume the commercial will be available on UTUBE, and when it's done I will let you know. Right now, I am shopping for an outfit for Wed. The marketing dept gal said just wear everyday clothes you'd wear to an appt. Yeah. Ok. No pressure there! So, in just a little while I will be out and about...you guessed it! Shopping!
Besides that, my sister is coming to spend the night so we can work out all the little details on the Fall Roseville Retreat. My biggest task I have left is to create myself a hat-with roses. Yes. We have a "dress up in character" night on the Saturday at the retreat. I have everything else I need except a hat. Rhonda Bauer has to have a hat! Can't find one ANYWHERE that I like or that will work. Ok, I have seen some-but I refuse to pay $40. So, I have a plan. I am simply going to make one myself! (Yeah, this should prove interesting...) I have a summer straw hat that I wore in a fashion show in April. I will trace it and see if I can work it that way. It only has to work for about 3 or 4 hours, so I think I can do it. I will need to stop at JoAnns and pick up some stiff reinforcement material to go between the top and back fabric, but you know-I just think I am going to be able to pull it off. (I will admit that if I see a garage sale on the way to JoAnn's, I am going to stop and PRAY I find one first! LOL)
For those of you attending the Fall Roseville Retreat-your bag kit it's now ready! Contact Lydia at Adys Fabrics and Notions at AdysFabric@sbcglobal.net. She is located in Morgantown, Indiana-right on your way to Nashville and the retreat! You'll love what she has picked out! I am planning to swing by on Saturday and pick up my own kit that I can make and show the rest of you online. She'd be happy to sell you a kit also!
If you haven't read it yet--chapter 11 is up on the tool bar! I made some editing changes yesterday, so you'll find some new details if you read it Wed night. What is that new husband of Gladys's up to?
Hugs and Stitches, xoxoxo
