Quilt With Us

It's hard to believe I haven't been on Quilt With Us for almost 5 months. So much has happened; my beloved mother passed away after Christmas and I miss her terribly. Although she had a long good life and was healthy for most of her 91 years...I miss her.

Also my husband has decided to retire from his job in December of this year. We will be moving back home to Colorado, which we are really happy about.  We will be close to most of our family and it will be much easier and faster to see our daughter, son-in-law,  and granddaughter.  It's hard to think about packing the house and doing all the paper work, etc. but we are planning to stay there forever.  Although I realize things might change at least we won't be planning moves for our jobs anymore.

I've been doing quite a bit of quilting, knitting, wool applique, and reading.  The quilt shop where I work is for sale. If it doesn't sell by July 1st, then she will liquidate.  I'm finished adding to my stash because I knew we were moving.  I don't need any more to pack! It's fun to dream about my new quilting space and think about having all of my fabric, books, thread, and patterns all organized and in one space with my yarn, a big cutting table island, and room for a friend or two.

Anyway, it's good to be back.

So sorry to hear of your loss of your mom.  No matter how expected it is still never easy.  It is great to have you back...I was wondering where you had gone.  How wonderful it is that you will be moving back "home" nearer to your family.

So sorry to hear about your Mom and I too lost mine a few years back and still think that I need to call her and see what is going on.  I know that your move will be a great thing so that you can be closer to your family.  Good luck and have fun stealing all those hugs and cuddles.

Sorry to hear about you mom. Mine passed away at 79 in '96 and I still want to pick up the phone and call her. Your move home sounds like it will be a wonderful thing, especially when you'll be close to your family. Good luck this year in not buying any more fabric this year!!!!! Setting up your new sewing room will be fun and challenging, but worth the effort.

So good to hear from you. You have had so much on your mind and heart to deal with.  I know you greatly miss your mom. A lot of changes going on for you. It will be nice to be closer to your family, now that your DH has retired. I know the work it is to move, but sounds like the end result will be wonderful and you can set up a new quilting space, which can be great fun.

It's good to have you back.  Sincere sympathy on the death of your dear mother.  Mum has been gone now 6 years.  She was 93.  I lost my dad in March of 89 at the age of 81.  You never stop missing them but the good memories brings joy to carry you on.  The move back to Col. will be nice once you get settled and get your new sewing space up and running.  I don't know of anything more difficult then moving from one house to another and especially when your moving to another State.  But it will be worth it to be close to family, especially that dear little granddaughter.

Good to hear from you.  I'm sorry about the loss of your mom.  May your memories of her be comforting ones.  Keep us posted on your move when you have time.  It is a big job, but you'll be happy when it is all behind you and you are settled in your new place.

It is good to have you back.  Please accept my condolences in the loss of your mother.  That is a tough one. I still wish I had Mother to talk to and she has been gone since 87.

Who doesn't want to be closer to their grandchildren?  You will enjoy being able to see her more and your daughter.

You will have to post pictures when you get settled.  However, after reading again, you are not going to be moving until after the 1st of the year 2014 so will be a while.

Winter is the time to read.  I have been reading a book about every 3 days.  This is the time of year to do it.  Stay Warm out there!!
