Quilt With Us

Thank you all for the warm wishes of a new year!!! I got the best gift that i could hope for from my Mom, Dad & Hubby!!! "She" - (still deciding on a "special name") -- is the Mega Quilter with the 2nd generation Grace Husquarvana 18x8 quilt frame that includes the Qbot.

That I don't have the first idea of how to use it -- well, I have a new year and tons of dreams that I can start working on. My mom has been making tops for a long time and they are still stacking up. I kept telling her that a quilter would help her get them completed but instead she assigned that portion to me!!!

I am so excited! I have gotten off to a rough start -- setting up the frame looked very easy when I viewed the video that came with it but I found it very challenging and had to call my husband to get it done. Then loading the fabric -- of course I had to do it wrong a few times before I finally got it -- people from other forums have offered some great information but the actual dealer I purchased it from has been at the state fair in CA and so I haven't been able to get any help from the technician. Any way, it looks like I am ready to make some doodles and curves and actually open the software book to see how the Qbot works!!!

Thank you all for all the warm wishes of a happy birthday -- at 55, I can't remember a better one.

How exciting! I heard one good tip for people who get a long/mid-arm - buy a whole bolt of cheap fabric (Ikea) and cheap batting and practice like crazy!

wow, I just went on the HUS site and checked out your new baby. That's a whopper of a gift. You must be on cloud 9. Have fun getting to know HER and let us know what HER name is going to be.
